Embedded Staff Engineer - Media APP & HAL

Responsibilities:

1. Lead one or multiple projects/assignments simultaneously.
2. Work will be on media framework (Gstreamer, ffmpeg, openmax, etc) and application development.
3. Technically Leading team for PoCs (Internal Projects) and/or Customer Requirements.
4. Feature enhancements, Integration & Bug fixing.
5. Debugging various technical issues and provide the solutions.
6. Timely & Quality deliverables of module.
7. Documentation and process adherence.

1. 5 - 7 years of experience in Embedded Software with strong command over C/CPP
2. Strong fundamental knowledge of Multimedia (audio, video and codecs) terminologies
3. Familiarity with streaming protocols and audio-video encoding/decoding
4. Expert with 1 or more multimedia HAL framework (GStreamer(preferably), openmax, ffmpeg, ALSA, stagefright, Live555) or multimedia SDKs like RDK (Reference design Kit), Qualcomm multimedia SDK or any experience at media HAL in infotainment system
5. Familiarity with tools like stream-eye, vooya, audacity, VQ Probe or any other media stream analyzer would be an added advantage
6. Hands on experience on debugging tools required to debug at multimedia HAL layer
7. Sound knowledge of SW development tools such as Git, Confluence, JIRA, bit-bucket, SourceTree, Yocto etc
8. Hands on experience working in embedded Linux building, Uboot configuration, kernel compilation, Linux start-up sequencing, filesystems, debugging kernel messages for cross platforms etc.
9. Passionate about learning new technologies, methodologies, strategies and processes
10. Good sense of responsibility, teamwork and timeline
11. Excellent written and verbal communication
12. Self-starter, problem-solving mentality, and creative thinker
13. Good in documentation & shall be able to prepare the specification, design documents from requirements

1. Independently lead the module with 3 or 4 engineers
2. Good knowledge of working with Open-source software packages is preferred
3. Close cooperation with other leaders and projects managers
4. Any Contribution to any open-source multimedia software development community is added advantage

Education Requirements: B. Tech/M Tech (ECE/EEE/CSE/IT)
