Senior Software Engineer- Gurgaon

Title: Senior Software Engineer 

The Group: The IWPT Marketplace team at Morningstar is seeking a seasoned Senior Software Engineer to lead the development and maintenance of our applications built using .NET Framework and Front-end technologies like VueJS and Angular. These applications are vital for our users i.e. Financial Advisors ensuring the smooth operation of their financial systems. 

The Role: As a Senior Software Engineer, you will be responsible for the end-to-end development, reliability, and performance of our applications. You will be working as a full-stack developer and collaborate closely with stakeholders and internal teams to develop new features, enhance functionality, troubleshoot issues, and drive continuous improvement. 

Responsibilities: 

• Work as a full-stack developer for the development and maintenance of applications using .NET Core and front-end javascript frameworks (preferably VueJS/Angular). 
• Collaborate with stakeholders and internal teams for design and development of new features and enhancements, resolving issues in application. 
• Design and implement enhancements to improve the reliability, performance, and usability of our applications. 
• Mentor junior engineers, providing guidance and support to enhance their development skills. 
• Document development processes, troubleshooting steps, and resolutions to ensure knowledge sharing and continuous improvement. 

Requirements: 

Technical Skills:

• Advanced proficiency in .NET Framework, front-end frameworks (VueJS/Angular) for enterprise grade applications using micro-services pattern. 
• Experience with modern development practices in areas of Product design, Requirement Analysis, Test Driven Development, Automation & Unit Testing, in a product development environment
• Familiarity with relational and non-relational databases and queries. 
• Self-Motivated, Quick Learner & Expertise in troubleshooting and debugging techniques. 

Soft Skills: 

• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal. 
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills. 
• Proven ability to work independently and take end to end ownership of development. 
• Customer-focused mindset with a commitment to delivering high-quality solutions. 

Basic Qualifications: 

• Bachelors degree in computer science, Engineering, or related field. 
• Minimum 5 years of experience in software development or a related field. 
• Experience developing and supporting distributed applications or similar financial systems is a plus. 

Preferred Qualifications: 

• Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS or Azure. 
• Knowledge of financial markets. 
• Experience with DevOps practices and tools.
