The Team :
- The Compensation and Total Rewards team, within the broader People & Culture function, Supports strategic and operational direction and execution for P&C's compensation and benefit programs / activities.
- The team is responsible for ensuring that all compensation principles and policies ensure a competitive market positioning while ensuring fair and equitable practices.
- This team supports and participates in Global decision making for current and future Global programs and requirements of Morningstar.
The Role :

- We are seeking a Director of Compensation to lead and transform our Total Rewards team in India.
- In this role, located at Navi Mumbai, you will be asked to lead the design, implementation, and provide consultation to business leaders, P&C leaders, employees, managers on reward programs.
- You will work with P&C leaders across all P&C domains to develop best in class practices, processes, implement for efficiencies, provide consultation, and direction for Rewards.
- You will serve as a vital member of the global P&C Total Rewards team, representing India and working on global initiatives to improve processes and the overall Morningstar employee experience.
- You will be responsible ensuring that our Employee Benefits are fair as per market benchmarks in India.
- You will be responsible for ensuring a favorable internal client experience. We are looking for a creative, inspiring leader who can bring new ideas to evolve our Total rewards approach supportive of a high growth environment.
- This position requires a seasoned, influential leader who possesses deep analytical skills, understanding of market trends, and strong consultation skills to proactively advocate and support our business.
Responsibilities :
- Be a strong advocate of Morningstar Total Rewards Philosophy and work with local leaders and teams to pro-actively drive the philosophy across the organization.
- Serve as the primary point of contact and influence for Total Rewards management in India meet proactively with senior leaders, and managers to educate, train, and communicate our total reward philosophy, impart understanding of total rewards programs, and pay review practices.
- Research, analyze and evaluate compensation and benefits practices in India. Maintain a network of contacts and vendors to gather market intelligence.
- Proactively benchmark compensation and benefits internally and in the external market.
- Recommend changes to Pay structures to ensure market competitiveness and pay fairness.
- Design and conduct and/or facilitate training to P&C team, managers, and employees on key compensation and total rewards issues, concepts, or processes.
- Mentor and strengthen the local Rewards team that develops and executes programs, practices and processes, Work closely with global teams and local stakeholders.
- Transform processes to gain efficiencies by automation or streamlining, working with People Technology or Transformation/operations team as necessary.
- Work with the Global Rewards team on key initiatives such as new programs, budgeting, benchmarking, Performance Management etc. and serve as the voice of the local needs in liaison with local resources.
- Work closely with regional teams to ensure sharing of best practices and market knowledge.
- Drive, and support Pay review processes and related communications, including but not limited to Pay increase, promotions, performance management, off-cycle adjustment, Internal job posting, global mobility etc. Help team to identify critical issues during or ahead of the process.
- Establish, maintain and support job leveling and compensation benchmarking programs, Leader/Manager education of compensation structures changes and impact.
- Be responsible for overseeing benefits programs to innovate, manage on consistent basis, and building a best-in-class Employee Benefits Program.
Requirements :
- Graduate in human resources, finance, or related field.
- 15+ years of work experience out of which at least 10 years in Compensation and Benefits space.
- Extensive compensation and benefits experience within a commercial organization - including salary surveys, compensation reviews, and the management of benefits.
- Proactive, fast learner, flexible in thinking and able to operate effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Proven ability to consult, problem solve, coach, and advise all levels of employees on total rewards programs.
- Strong numerical and analytical skills with the ability to strategically solve problems.
- Successful record of managing multiple projects concurrently, strategic level thinking and executing with a "hands on" approach.
- Excellent communication skills, with demonstrated experience influencing or leading others.
- Computer skill in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, HR Tools such as Workday, HRMS.
- Positive attitude, energetic, self-direct, well organized, detail oriented.
