Engineering Director

Role & responsibilities

We are looking for an experienced Director of Engineering to lead our engineering team in developing and delivering world-class HR solutions. The ideal candidate will have a strong technical foundation, exceptional leadership skills, and a passion for building scalable software in a SaaS environment.

Key Responsibilities

1. Leadership and Team Development:

• Lead, mentor, and develop a diverse and talented engineering team.
• Cultivate a culture of innovation, accountability, and continuous learning.
• Set clear objectives and performance metrics for team members.
• Recruit, hire, and retain top engineering talent.
• Evaluate and implement tools and technologies to support the engineering team.

1. Strategic Vision and Execution

• Collaborate with executive leadership to define the engineering vision and strategic direction.
• Align engineering efforts with business goals and product roadmaps specific to HR solutions.
• Drive the adoption of best practices in software development and delivery.

1. Technical Excellence

• Oversee the architecture, design, and implementation of scalable and secure HR software solutions.
• Ensure high standards of software quality, performance, and reliability.
• Stay abreast of emerging technologies and trends in HR tech to drive product innovation.

1. Project and Resource Management

• Manage multiple projects and priorities, ensuring timely and successful delivery.
• Coordinate with cross-functional teams, including product management, sales, and customer support, to ensure alignment and collaboration.
• Implement agile methodologies to enhance team productivity and efficiency.

Preferred candidate profile

• Bachelors or Masters degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
• 10+ years of experience in software engineering, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.
• Proven experience in a SaaS environment, preferably with HR solutions or related fields.
• Strong technical skills in [relevant technologies, e.g., Java, Kotlin, RoR, AWS, etc.].
• Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Demonstrated ability to manage complex projects and deliver results on time.
• Experience with agile development methodologies.
