Position: Tekla API Developer

Location: Hyderabad

Job Description:

API Developer specializes in developing custom applications and plugins for 3D modeling softwares like Tekla & SDS2 and creates solutions that enhance the softwares functionality, automate repetitive tasks, and integrate software with other systems

1. Requirement Gathering:

• Consult with Stakeholders: Engage with production teams and other stakeholders to gather requirements for custom tools or plugins.
• Analyze Workflow Needs: Understand the current workflows within the Tekla/SDS2 softwares and identify areas where automation or customization can improve efficiency.

2. Design and Planning:

• API Exploration: Review and explore Tekla/SDS2 Open API documentation to understand available methods, properties, and classes that can be leveraged.
• Prototype Development: Develop prototypes or proof-of-concept applications to validate ideas and gather feedback before full-scale development.

3. Development:

• Custom Tool Development: Write code to develop custom applications, plugins, or extensions using Open API in programming languages like C#, .NET, or Python.
• Automation Scripting: Develop scripts to automate repetitive tasks within Tekla/SDS2, such as model creation, drawing generation, or data extraction.

4. Testing and Quality Assurance:

• Unit Testing: Perform unit testing on individual components of the custom application to ensure they work as intended.
• Integration Testing: Test the custom tools in a live Tekla/SDS2 environment to ensure they integrate smoothly with existing workflows and do not disrupt other functionalities.
• Bug Identification and Resolution: Identify, document, and fix any bugs or issues that arise during testing to ensure a stable release.

5. Documentation:

• Technical Documentation: Write detailed technical documentation that explains the code structure, API usage, and any dependencies or configurations required for the custom tool.
• User Guides: Create user manuals or guides to help end-users understand how to use the developed applications or plugins within Tekla/SDS2

6. Deployment:

• Deployment Planning: Plan the deployment of custom tools or plugins, including version control, environment setup, and rollout strategies.
• Implementation: Deploy the custom applications or plugins within the Tekla/SDS2, ensuring minimal disruption to ongoing projects.

7. Maintenance and Support:

• Ongoing Maintenance: Regularly update and maintain custom tools to ensure compatibility with new versions of Tekla/SDS2.
• Bug Fixes and Updates: Address any issues reported by users and release updates or patches to improve performance or add new features.
• User Support: Provide technical support to users, helping them troubleshoot issues or understand how to best utilize the custom tools.

8. Collaboration:

• Team Collaboration: Work closely with other developers, engineers, and project managers to align the development work with overall project goals.
• Cross-Department Collaboration: Engage with other departments (e.g., IT, operations) to ensure the developed tools meet organizational standards and are integrated effectively across different systems.
