Job Description

Initiate the validation process for existing tagging and resource consistency across cloud environments to ensure accurate cost allocation.
Conduct an in-depth review of workloads to identify potential areas for optimization, including cost-saving opportunities through automation and modernization.
Begin creating a backlog of optimization initiatives based on the initial review of cloud spend and resource utilization.
Continue working through the backlog of optimization initiatives, prioritizing those with the highest potential cost savings.
Develop a high-level automation strategy to streamline optimization tasks, reducing manual intervention and improving efficiency.
Start implementing automation strategies for routine tasks, such as cost anomaly detection.
Work closely with the architecture lead to align optimization efforts with the overall FinOps strategy.
Provide regular updates to the FinOps lead on the progress of optimization efforts and any challenges encountered.
Begin documenting the optimization processes to create a knowledge base for future reference.
Start building a repository of optimization case studies and best practices to be used for future projects.
Focus on implementing optimization strategies identified in earlier phases, prioritizing those with long-term benefits.
Automate the monitoring and management of optimization initiatives, providing real-time insights into their effectiveness.
Develop a detailed transition plan for handing over optimization processes to the client s internal teams.
Provide ongoing support to the FinOps lead in monitoring and adjusting optimization efforts as needed.

Ensure that all automation scripts, tools, and documentation are handed over to the client.

Qualifications:

Bachelor s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field.
3 to 5 years of experience in cloud cost management and optimization.
Proven experience in validating tagging and resource consistency.
Hands-on experience in conducting optimization analyses and driving optimization initiatives.
Strong knowledge of cloud infrastructure, particularly AWS
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.

Preferred Skills:

Certification in FinOps certifications.
Experience with automation strategies and script deployment.
Knowledge of best practices in cloud financial management and cost optimization.
