We are seeking a talented individual to join our Mercer team at Health Actuarial.
This role will be based in Gurgaon.
- This is a hybrid role that has a requirement of working at least three days a week in the office.
- The role would be responsible for leading multiple teams led by managers and delivery managers to deliver an excellent and consistent experience for all our clients by ensuring quality delivery across teams, effective communication and achieving / overachieving the SLAs.
- The role will support Unit Head in strategic planning of the Valuation Services business, planning, budgeting, P&L, supervise and actively take part in the management of business activities and business growth.
- The candidate will be expected to proactively manage internal and external client expectations, supervise the coordination of internal client services, define and coordinate the relation with other stakeholders.
- The applicant is expected to be diligent and responsible adequately to pull more out of the scope, consulting projects and roles and put in the effort to contribute to other spheres as well representing India actuarial team / Mercer in various internal and external forums.
We will count on you to:.
- Lead Manages department / group / practice that includes multiple teams led by Managers and/or Supervisors.
- Defines and draws up the annual strategic plan for Valuation Services (strategic targets for the market, clients, staff, processes and finance).
- Support Unit Head to draw up the annual budget taking into account the technical and resource requirements in order to ensure that strategic targets.
- Ensure a high level of financial discipline across team.
- Provide approvals for expenditures within established approval limits.
- Assesses the direct reports and entire group evaluating and supporting development in an active manner (coaching).
- Lead, Manage & Motivate Team members to achieve desired outcomes and objectives following the Mercer values.
- Manage merit and professional promotions, define the talent management strategies and training plan for the actuarial teams in order to ensure motivation and development of the members.
- Defines, carry out and supervise the strategy, targets (clients, staff, processes and finance), plans, programs and budget of the company, jointly with the rest of the management team in order to obtain the desired business results on a short, medium and long term basis.
- Identify and manage issue resolution including escalation as needed.
- Develop & manage communication plans with stakeholders aimed at improved collaboration.
- Use industry standard best practices to deliver high quality actuarial services to the businesses and functions.
- Ensuing all quality and other service delivery standards are met at individual, team and group levels.
- Owns the execution of group strategy and the operational direction of the Department / group.
- Ability to influence others to accept / follow practices and approaches, and ability to communicate and influence business leadership.
- Harness experience and actuarial knowledge to check and deliver work more efficiently.
- Multi-country & multi services delivery valuations, Technical Center of Excellence services.
- Liaise with onshore GSD actuarial centers in sharing best practices preparing, reviewing and presenting training programs.
- Significant assistance with respect to transition of new actuarial services.
- Build strong relationship with onshore consultants to identify more opportunities to support.
- Support Delivery Manager / Sr. Delivery Manager to strengthen the knowledge & skills of India team. Innovate and implement areas of improvement on quality and efficiency.
- Lead / participate in strategic projects software migration, VSM, AI projects etc.
- Define and implement a process for developing, maintaining, and supporting cross-business unit tools and products.
- Drive the implementation of best practice processes for project management, development, and QA.
- Support compliance and MMCo Audit processes for Mercer.
What you need to have:.
- 12+ years' actuarial experience overall preferably in employee benefits / pensions domain.
- Graduation with Mathematics/Statistics/Actuarial Science or any subject with sizeable mathematical content, with completion of "Core" series of actuarial exams (preferable).
- Thorough knowledge of pension/PRM/US Health actuarial fundamentals.
- Ability to communicate effectively & collaborate with stakeholders.
