Job Title: Senior System Administrator

Work Location: MKCL Office at Navi Mumbai (physically at workplace)

Responsibilities

The Senior System Administrator will be responsible for IT Infra operations at MKCL company. This includes handling the day-to-day tasks such as server replacement, security deployments and user reports. Additional responsibilities include coordinating IT Infra staff, ensuring the privacy and safety of physical and digital assets, maintaining network bandwidth and integrity, and keeping up to date on key industry standards. The candidate may show exceptional initiative and take on additional projects with business value.

• Managing IT Infra staff and developing department goals.
• Developing and overseeing the IT Infra budget.
• Planning, deploying, and maintaining IT Infra systems and operations.
• Optimising Server farms, bandwidth requirement and network security
• Developing IT Infra policies, procedures, and best practices
• Staying updated on IT Infra trends and emerging technologies.
• Developing and enforcing IT Infra best practices across the organization.
• Ensuring IT Infra strategies and processes support company-wide goals.
• Overseeing relationships with vendors, contractors, and Service Providers.
• Present the benefits and risks of new IT Infra -related projects to staff / Key Management.

Requisite Skills / Technology

Server Management:

• Oversee the installation, configuration, and maintenance of servers (Windows/Linux/UNIX) ensuring uptime, performance, and security.
• Ensure regular updates, patches, and system upgrades are applied.
• Maintain hardware and software inventories for server assets.
• Monitor server performance metrics and implement optimization strategies to improve performance.
• Ensure appropriate scaling and resource allocation as the organization grows.
• Design and implement robust backup and disaster recovery procedures.
• Regularly test disaster recovery plans to ensure effectiveness.
• Ensure server security through access control, encryption, vulnerability management, and incident response strategies.
• Configure firewalls, VPNs, and other security mechanisms to protect sensitive data.
• Automate repetitive tasks using PowerShell, Bash, Python, or other scripting languages to improve efficiency and reduce manual intervention.
• Install, configure, and maintain databases (SQL Server, Oracle, MySQL, etc.).
• Ensure the databases meet security and performance standards.
• Monitor database performance, identify bottlenecks, and implement improvements.
• Regularly optimize database queries and indexing to improve efficiency.
• Apply security best practices, including data encryption, role-based access controls, and regular audits.
• Manage virtual environments (XCP-NG) and cloud-based infrastructure (AWS, Azure, OCI and GCP).
• Ensure appropriate resource allocation, scaling, and availability of virtual or cloud systems.

Qualification/s

(a) Masters Degree in Computer Application / Computer Science/ Information Technology/ E & TC or equivalent from any recognized University

OR

(b) Bachelors / Masters Degree (BE / BTech / ME / MTech) with specialization in Computer Engineering / Computer Technology / Information Technology/ E & TC or equivalent from any recognized University

Preferred Certifications

Certified RHCE

Certified MySQL DBA

Certified Ethical Hacker

Relevant Experience

8 to 10 Years required

Level in MKCL Pay Matrix Level 1 or 2

The specific level for the selected candidate shall be decided based on his/her qualifications and relevant experience.

Compensation Package - Cost To Company (CTC)

Range:16 lacs to 19 Lacs. **

(This includes approx. Annual Special Allowance (DA based %) and Organizational Performance Linked Award amounts paid in the financial year 2023-24.)

Exact CTC for the selected candidate shall be computed based on his/her qualifications and relevant experience.

**The amount provided for the Annual Special Allowance (ASA) and the approximate Organisational Performance Linked Award (OPLA) are based on previous years data and are estimates only. Final amounts will be determined in accordance with the Employee Remuneration Policy, considering factors such as the Companys profit before tax, individual performance ratings, and other relevant criteria. Both allowances will be disbursed on a pro-rata basis for the financial year.
