Patent Agent (Electrical and/or Electronics)

Role & responsibilities

• Manage clients' patent portfolio;
• Provide advice on patent prosecution strategies;
• Draft responses to Examination Reports / Hearing Notices, and propose claim amendments to overcome the objections raised therein;
• Attend Hearings before the Controllers of IPO;
• Supervise the filing of patent applications, Request for Examination and grant procedure, as well as filing of Working Statement;
• Conduct freedom-to-operate (FTO) search and provide FTO opinion;
• Conduct prior art search and provide patentability opinion;
• (Not mandatory, but preferable) Draft full patent specification (i.e., abstract, description, claims and drawings).

Preferred candidate profile

• Holds a science degree (preferably Electrical and/or Electronics);
• Must be a registered Indian Patent Agent (Candidates who are not registered Indian Patent Agents, please excuse);
• Proficient with computers (should have sound knowledge of Microsoft Word and Outlook);
• At least three years of relevant post-qualification experience with patent filing and prosecution work in India;
• Immediate availability preferred.
