Position Overview:

The Site Leader is responsible for overseeing day-to-day operations, ensuring that the facility meets its production goals, maintaining a high level of quality and customer satisfaction, and leading a team of employees. The role includes strategic planning, budgeting, resource management, and ensuring compliance with all company policies and regulatory standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Operational Management:
    • Oversee the day-to-day operations of the site, ensuring smooth and efficient processes.
    • Monitor production or service delivery to ensure targets are met on time and within budget.
    • Implement and optimize operational strategies to improve site performance and output.
  2. Leadership and Team Management:
    • Lead, mentor, and manage a diverse team of employees, including department managers and front-line staff.
    • Foster a positive work environment that encourages teamwork, professional growth, and high morale.
    • Provide clear direction, set performance expectations, and conduct regular performance reviews.
  3. Budgeting and Financial Management:
    • Develop and manage the site’s budget, ensuring financial goals are met or exceeded.
    • Monitor financial performance and analyze data to identify opportunities for cost reductions and efficiency improvements.
    • Ensure resources are allocated effectively, and operational expenses are controlled.
  4. Health, Safety, and Compliance:
    • Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations and standards.
    • Implement and enforce company policies and procedures related to workplace safety, quality control, and risk management.
    • Conduct regular audits and risk assessments to ensure a safe working environment.
  5. Strategic Planning and Execution:
    • Work with senior leadership to align the site’s operational goals with the company’s overall business strategy.
    • Develop long-term plans for site growth, expansion, and technological improvements.
    • Drive continuous improvement initiatives to optimize workflows, reduce downtime, and improve overall efficiency.
  6. Client and Stakeholder Engagement:
    • Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, suppliers, and other external stakeholders.
    • Address customer concerns and ensure a high level of service delivery and satisfaction.
    • Serve as the primary point of contact for local government officials and regulatory bodies.
  7. Performance Monitoring and Reporting:
    • Track and report on key performance indicators (KPIs), including productivity, quality, customer satisfaction, and financial performance.
    • Use data-driven decision-making to improve site operations and address any performance gaps.
    • Prepare and present regular progress reports to senior management.
  8. Talent Acquisition and Development:
    • Collaborate with HR to recruit and retain top talent for the site.
    • Identify training and development needs and implement programs to enhance staff skills and capabilities.
    • Promote internal talent development and succession planning.
  9. Crisis and Risk Management:
    • Develop and implement risk management strategies to mitigate potential operational disruptions.
    • Lead the site’s crisis management efforts, ensuring business continuity during emergencies.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Operations Management, or a related field (Master’s preferred).
  • 8+ years of experience in a leadership role, preferably in a manufacturing, logistics, or operations environment.
  • Strong knowledge of operational management, lean manufacturing, and process improvement methodologies.
  • Proven experience in budget management, financial analysis, and resource allocation.
  • Excellent leadership and team-building skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire staff.
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Proficiency in data analysis and reporting tools.
  • Knowledge of regulatory compliance standards (health, safety, and environmental).
