Position Overview:
The General Manager Sales is responsible for overseeing all aspects of the sales operations within the automobile dealership. This role requires a dynamic leader who can drive the sales team, ensure excellent customer satisfaction, and meet the dealership's sales targets. The GM Sales will play a key role in developing and executing sales strategies to maximize revenue, profitability, and market share while maintaining brand standards.
Key Responsibilities:
Sales Strategy and Planning:
- Develop, implement, and oversee the dealership's sales strategies.
- Set annual and quarterly sales goals, ensuring they are aligned with the dealership's business objectives.
- Monitor market trends and competitor activities to inform sales strategies.
- Create initiatives to increase sales of both new and used vehicles.
Team Leadership and Management:
- Lead, coach, and motivate the sales team to ensure high performance and professional growth.
- Conduct regular performance reviews, provide feedback, and implement training programs.
- Foster a positive work environment to enhance employee retention and engagement.
Customer Relationship Management:
- Oversee the entire customer journey, from initial contact to after-sales service, ensuring a seamless experience.
- Monitor and improve customer satisfaction scores (CSI) and Net Promoter Scores (NPS).
- Address customer concerns and complaints promptly and professionally.
Sales Operations:
- Manage the entire sales process, ensuring efficiency, compliance, and adherence to dealership policies.
- Collaborate with other departments (finance, service, marketing) to optimize dealership operations.
- Track and analyze sales data, adjusting strategies to meet changing market conditions.
- Oversee inventory management and vehicle procurement in collaboration with relevant departments.
Financial Oversight:
- Monitor sales revenue, profitability, and other financial metrics.
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual sales reports for dealership leadership.
- Develop pricing strategies and promotional offers to maximize profitability.
- Work closely with the finance team to manage budgeting and forecasting.
Marketing and Business Development:
- Collaborate with the marketing team to develop campaigns to drive showroom traffic and online inquiries.
- Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including manufacturers, financial institutions, and local businesses.
- Identify opportunities for business growth, including fleet sales, corporate partnerships, and community events.
Key Performance Indicators (KPIs):
- Monthly and annual vehicle sales targets (new and used).
- Customer satisfaction (CSI, NPS).
- Gross profit per unit (GPU).
- Sales team turnover and employee satisfaction.
- Lead conversion rates.
