As a Storage Security Architect, you will be an integral part of the architecture and product planning team to define secure storage systems for our customers. Micron s SSD group is looking for a recognized technical expert who focuses day-to-day on developing new technology and exhibits technical knowledge mastery of secure storage system solutions.
Responsibilities and Tasks: Your new responsibilities will include, but are not limited to the following areas: Define detailed SSD product security requirements and develop new product security architecture specifications Perform Security threat analysis, security design reviews and security code reviews Generate new intellectual property, patents, technical presentations and/or publications, trade secrets, etc. Mentor product core teams throughout the product development process with innovation and sound foundational development principles Maintain strong technical engineering relationships with customers, partner system architects and key technologists Work with other architects, technologists, design engineers and engineering teams to ensure successful implementation and feasibility demonstration of new product concepts Evangelize new storage products, technologies, and capabilities Represent Micron at appropriate industry consortia, technical organizations, and technical conferences Identify and stay abreast of key security technical trends and competitive landscapes within the storage industry Influence different technical disciplines with reach spanning across geographic areas, organizational boundaries, and the industry Work closely with external customers, gathering requirements and creating solutions as a trusted adviser
Experience: Successful candidates for this position will have: 8+ years of experience in security architecture and/or product development/design engineering Technical skills, including detailed knowledge of at least 3 of the following areas: o Security Standards, including TCG Opal/Pyrite/Enterprise, IEEE1667, Common Criteria protection profiles (cPP FDE AA, cPP FDE EE), Federal Information Processing Standards and NIST Special Publications related to computer security (e.g. NIST SP800-38E XTS-AES, FIPS 197 AES), etc. Cryptography features (REQUIRED) including HMAC, AES, etc. Storage Knowledge of: o Device protocols such as PCIe/NVMe, SATA/ATA, SAS, etc. o NAND flash operation, including array behaviors, error management techniques, ONFI/toggle interfaces, etc. o Firmware operation, including logical to physical mapping, power-loss protection, command prioritization, scheduling, caching, etc. o ASIC/SoC operation, including host-to-media data flow, end-to-end data protection schemes, automation, pacing hardware, etc. Systems experience: o A proven track record of delivering security solutions for SSD and/or HDD products to market o Demonstrated system level problem-solving and troubleshooting skills o Operating systems such as Linux, Windows, VMware, etc. o Storage systems such as RAID, Blades, Workstations, etc. o Host system device drivers and application analysis Excellent verbal and written communications skills Highly organized, self-motivated and disciplined Able to work with engineers across multiple disciplines, as well as customers of various positions Able to travel 10% for both domestically and internationally Education: Bachelor s degree in Electrical/Computer Engineering or equivalent required, MSEE (Preferred)
