Reporting to: Accounts Payable Manager

Job purpose

• Responsible for a key role within the Accounts Payable Team with accurate and timely posting of supplier invoices and reconciling supplier statements.
• Working with the other members of the Accounts Payable Team to achieve monthly targets and contribute to the month end procedure.
• Accurate and efficient working to maintain strong supplier relationships and to support the company wide purchasing requirements.
• House keeping responsibilities on a weekly/monthly basis to support clean and accurate ledgers, which supports the Financial Audits.
• Supporting the Accounts Payable mailbox with effective and respectful communication to both our suppliers and internal colleagues.

Job Responsibilities

• Ensure all supplier invoices/credit notes are accurately inputted onto the ledger on a daily basis.
• Reconcile supplier statements obtaining copy invoices where necessary
• Supporting BACs run preparation twice monthly by obtaining required samples.
• Monitor and maintain housekeeping ensuring any open items are matched before month end close where and when appropriate.
• Supporting with Purchasing Card administration.
• Supporting with AP email inbox management.

Performance Criteria

• Timely and accurate transactional inputs onto the ERP system.
• Using ERP system notes where appropriate for audit trails/team support.
• Adherence to Financial processes and controls, highlighting new areas for improvement.
• Providing positive input to the overall performance of the Accounts Payable Team.
• Establishing positive working relationships with both suppliers and internal customers.

Qualifications & Capabilities

• Position would suit someone with at least 2 years experience in a Finance, or similar type role, including purchase ledger experience. Position may also appeal to a recent graduate or school leaver. With knowledge and experience of sound financial controls and practices.
• Experience of working with multiple currencies with working knowledge of the effects of varying exchange rates is desirable.
• High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
• Must be tenacious and target driven, with experience of working in a fast-paced dynamic environment.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Good team player, combined with ability to work using own initiative.
• An Intermediate Excel user.
