Job Description
The Head of QualityAssurance (QA) will provide leadership and technical guidance to the QA team,ensuring the analysis, design, testing, and deployment of high-qualityproducts. This role will be responsible for maintaining product integrity,compliance with technical specifications, and continuous process improvementwithin the QA function.
Duties/Responsibilities :
- Define, implement, and champion bestpractices for software quality assurance across the organization.
- Foster a strong culture of quality withinthe QA team and across all development teams. Develop and maintain acomprehensive testing strategy, encompassing functional, non-functional, andsecurity testing.
- Lead the development and execution oftest plans and test cases.
- Oversee the selection, implementation,and maintenance of QA automation tools and processes.
- Manage the QA budget and resourceseffectively.
- Collaborate with engineering, productmanagement, and other stakeholders to ensure quality is integrated throughoutthe software development lifecycle (SDLC).
- Identify, document, track, and resolvesoftware defects efficiently.
- Analyse trends in defect data to identifyareas for improvement in the development process.
- Mentor and coach QA team members, helpingthem develop their skills and expertise.
- Ensure compliance with federal, state,local, and organizational laws, regulations, guidelines, and policies.
- Stay up-to-date on the latest trends andtechnologies in software testing. Perform other duties as assigned.
RequirementsKnowledge &Experience Requirements:
- B.Tech or Masters degree in computerscience, software engineering, or a related field.
- 15+ years of experience in softwarequality assurance, with at least 5 years in a leadership or management role.
- Proven track record of designing,implementing, and optimizing software QA processes and methodologies.
- Extensive experience with test automationtools and frameworks (e.g., Selenium, Appium, JUnit) and proficiency inscripting languages (e.g., Python, Java).
- Strong understanding of softwaredevelopment methodologies (e.g., Agile, Scrum).
- Experience in performing database testing(MySQL and MongoDB).
- Proficiency in issue tracking platformslike JIRA and testing tools like JMeter for API testing, load testing, anddistributed testing, with monitoring at both server and application levels.
- Excellent leadership, communication, andinterpersonal skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate teams to achievequality objectives.
- Solid understanding of softwarearchitecture, design patterns, and technologies. Knowledge of RabbitMQ,Elastic search, and Grafana is desirable.
- B.Tech or Masters degree in computerscience, software engineering, or a related field.
