Job purpose
The purpose of this role is to gradually build a sales team to promote, distribute and
successfully sell products to doctors and other channel partners cross the States and
build a profitable, sustainable business in a short span of time. The incumbent should
have the ability to promote the science behind the products.
Duties and responsibilities
Achieving and driving secondary sales targets
ï•
Drive to deliver on set targets consistently, monitoring and growing business in all districts of
the State Assigned.
Selection & recruitment of right team members:
ï•
Being a start-up, one of the key responsibilities will be to choose the right mix of qualified
team members.
Setting up the Distribution Network in Districts/territories
ï•
It will be the primary responsibility of the Regional Business Manager to identify and set up a
distribution network which will efficiently function to ensure product availability.
Training, coaching and motivation of Team Members
ï•
One of the core areas will be continuously build skills amongst team members on various
areas which will improve sales effectiveness.
Ensuring adherence to systems & processes including use of CRM platforms for
reporting and activities
ï•
Ensure total adherence to processes and policies for field reporting as well as monitor and
support activities related to customer. Effectively deploy and leverage CRM to build and drive
customer relations.
Brainstorm and contribute to continuous improvement
ï•
As part of the core senior leadership team, will need to contribute to the thinking on new ways
to help build a sustainable business in the responsible territory
To organise & mobilize marketing & awareness programs in your territory in a cost
effective manner
ï•
This is to be done with the help of field people & chanel partner
Ultimate KRA would be to DRIVE SALES & Increase Market share of Merilâs product in
your given territory via operating from Headquarters (70%)
Qualifications and key characteristics

ï•
A science or pharmacy graduate with a post graduate degree in management with
good communication skills
At least 4-5 years as first line manager or higher in a leading pharmaceutical/
nutraceutical / medical devices / other allied healthcare company
Preferably having an experience of handling critical care OR super specialty products
having previously worked in a start-up environment. Should ideally have spent
reasonable time in a Big Pharma company in sales.

Outstanding ability to carry a team and inspire them; Should enjoy travel, being with
people and the science of life.
ï•
Knowledge of atleast two Indian languages apart from English
Working conditions:
Given the fact that this will be a start-up environment, the job will require review and
monitoring from Headquarter (Vapi) and design and develop effective CRM (Zoho). Job will
also require need base travel and field work (10%-15%) apart from talent acquisition. The job
will also demand of the individual to be able to train the team and contribute to building the
long term strategy of the organization.
Training:
3 weeks initial training will be provided, under which company Induction, product overview
& business unit knowledge will be gained.
