Senior Analyst - Load Forecasting and EPM Expert

A. About the Role

Mercados requires a seasoned professional with over 5 years of energy portfolio management experience in power sector especially with relation to power distribution utilities. This role involves forecasting electricity demand, optimizing power procurement, and ensuring efficient scheduling and dispatch. Its a critical position for maintaining a reliable and cost-effective power supply. The ideal candidate will have a strong technical foundation, experience with the Power Procurement Management, Demand and Supply mapping, Power Scheduling/Dispatch, Load forecasting and Energy Portfolio Optimization. As a Senior Analyst, you will work closely with Power Purchase and Load Management department at clients end and monitor the execution of works of your team. The person will also responsible for the day to day tasks related to forecasting, operational support to developed tools for the client, power procurement plan preparation etc. and may be working in shifts as per the project requirement.

Basis the years of experience, the candidate can be offered the designation of ‘Senior Analyst/Analyst – Enterprise SaaS’. The candidate shall be a part of the dynamic, high performing team within our ‘Management Consulting’ division. The candidate shall act as Module Leader and will be reporting to the Director – Management Consulting.

B. Detailed expectations from the role

The ideal candidate is expected to play the critical role of a Team player amidst professionals comprising of IT, Forecasting, Analytics and operational support. Being the Team member, the candidate is expected to have rich experience of handling multiple assignments in the power distribution sector, with proven expertise energy portfolio management. The intricacies of the tasks require the candidate to be well versed with the following similar experiences:

• Load forecast planning horizons and their impacts that range from short-term to long term with their Transmission corridor availability.
• Scheduling and Dispatch optimization with proper understanding of Day ahead Dispatch model/schedule Optimizer considering all kind of signed PPA.
• Required actions/compliances as per the MERC’s latest DSM Regulation and coordinate with LM Cell for necessary forecasting inputs
• Demand supply position based on contract requirements (Long, Medium, short, Day-Ahead, Intraday and RTM).
• Procurement Planning, optimization, and Energy Portfolio Management.
• Execution of Power Procurement Bidding and approval from MERC for discovered rate by Holistic risk-based market strategy and advisory support.
• Market participation strategy (DAM, TAM, and RTM) of Power Exchanges, price forecasting, and volume risk-mitigation.
• Energy Accounting for OA consumers in accordance with the MERC and CERC Regulations.
• Deviation settlement Analysis (Technical/Operational) and Database management of static and dynamic parameters of Generators.
• Comprehensive and scalable reporting dashboard which covers all key parameters of Energy Portfolio Management (EPM) operation / modules and the reports would be exportable to various format like xls*, csv, pdf and .xml.
• Preparation of all the MIS reports and assistance in Consumer Grievance Redressal Forum.

D. Education and Experience

• Relevant work experience of over 5 years preferably in Management Consulting assignments related to Energy Portfolio Management and Load Forecasting

E. Work Location

• Base location shall be Mumbai, Maharashtra. However, the role might require the applicant to undertake travel for pursuing various opportunities.
