Lead- Engineering Manager

Role Requirements:

The suitable candidate for this role will be a self-driven, highly motivated individual that recognizes the early-stage opportunity in a start-up company in a large market.

He or she will have a strong background in successful product development and delivery of products and services to scale in an ecommerce, or other consumer digital services industry. A background in the healthcare domain is desirable.

The candidate should have demonstrable track record in day-to-day hands-on management of software engineers with ownership for design, engineering, product development and production.

A working knowledge of distributed system and software architectures, proven capability to design to scale, and an understanding of best practices in software development is a must.

The individual must be innovative, and creative in their problem solving, and objective and analytical in their decision-making.

Role Description:

As a Manager in Engineering, the individual will head up one or more product development teams and will be responsible for managing short-term commitments and contributing to the long-term direction for companys products. As a senior manager in the company, he / she will contribute to product direction, technology, and the long-term strategy and planning for growth.

Education & Experience:

1. A bachelors or masters degree in engineering with a strong background in computer systems, software and data architectures and technologies.
2. A strong understanding and experience of Java technology and cloud-based production systems
3. 15 years of software industry experience, with at least 5 years experience managing complex product engineering and production teams.
