Senior Accountant Job Description

Position Summary:
The Senior Accountant oversees key accounting functions, including accounts payable/receivable, GST & TDS compliance, and financial reporting. This role ensures timely and accurate financial data, assists in tax filings, and supports audits.

Key Responsibilities:

• Accounts Payable/Receivable: Manage payments, invoicing, and account reconciliations.
• GST Compliance: Prepare GSTR-1, GSTR-2B, GSTR-9, and GSTR-9C returns.
• TDS Compliance: Handle TDS payments (194C, 194J, 194I, 194A, 194R) and quarterly returns (26Q, 24Q).
• Income Tax Returns: Assist in preparing and filing income tax returns with senior staff.
• Financial Statements: Manage balance sheets and profit/loss statements.
• Reconciliation: Perform bank, debtors, creditors, and project finance reconciliations.
• Salary & Payroll: Verify and manage salary payables.
• Compliance: Ensure timely PF, ESIC, and professional tax payments.
• Other Duties: Maintain sales MIS, petty cash, and handle routine payments (e.g., rent, utilities).

Qualifications:

• Bachelors degree in Accounting/Finance.
• 5+ years of experience in accounting with GST, TDS, and income tax expertise.
• Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., Tally, SAP).Role & responsibilities
