As a Release Engineer you will be pivotal in optimizing our software release process, with a strong emphasis on automation. Working closely with development and operations teams, you will streamline build and release pipelines, troubleshoot deployment issues, and ensure the seamless delivery of high-quality software products. Your expertise with Jenkins and GitLab will be essential in defining, implementing, and maintaining robust Continuous Delivery (CD) pipelines, enhancing efficiency and reliability across our software development lifecycle.Asa senior DevOps engineer on our core software development team, you willutilize your technical expertise in driving the design and automation ofprocesses to support continuous delivery of applications and services for alarge medical products manufacturer. Qualified candidates must havedemonstrable experience at designing and implementing end-to-end automationprocesses with a shift-left mentality. Not only automating build processes butalso incorporating test automation to improve code quality.Key Responsibilities: Pipeline Definition and Automation: Define, build, and enhance CD pipelines to automate software builds, testing, and deployments, with a focus on leveraging Jenkins and GitLab CI/CD. Collaboration with Development and Operations: Partner with development and operations teams to align pipeline configurations with project requirements, ensuring consistent and efficient delivery processes. Troubleshooting and Deployment Support: Proactively identify and resolve deployment issues within the pipeline to ensure stability and minimize downtime during releases. Quality Assurance Integration: Integrate automated quality checks and testing processes within the pipeline to guarantee the delivery of reliable, high-quality software. Release Process Optimization: Continuously improve release engineering practices, focusing on automation, scalability, and performance to streamline delivery cycles. Artifact and Version Management: Manage software artifacts, including versioning and security, to maintain alignment with release schedules and version control best practices. Documentation and Process Transparency: Maintain clear, comprehensive documentation of release engineering processes, configuration, and deployment workflows for cross-team understanding and knowledge sharing. Monitoring and Performance Optimization: Implement monitoring and analytics tools to track pipeline performance, proactively addressing potential bottlenecks to maintain an optimized release workflow. Preferably any scripting languages (e.g., Groovy, Bash, Grunt, PowerShell, Python, Ruby)Job Requirements: Experience: 5+ years in Release Engineering, DevOps, or related fields, with a focus on CI/CD pipeline management and automation.7+ years of IT experience of working with software development, release and build engineering teams5+ years DevOps Engineering experience5+ years DevOps Engineering experience, design, development, implementation,and definition of best practices for CI/CD processes, integration, API utilization.4+ Years Continuous Integration experience with industry standard tooling Technical Skills: Proficiency with Jenkins (pipeline-as-code, Jenkinsand/or GitLab CI/CD for automation of deployment workflows. Solid understanding of source code management using Git, including branching strategies and merge processes. Experience integrating with testing and packaging tools Containerization Knowledge: Familiarity with Docker or other container technologies is beneficial. Analytical Problem Solving: Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot complex issues in CI/CD pipelines and support continuous process improvements. Communication and Collaboration: Strong cross-functional teamwork skills, with an emphasis on clear technical communication and documentation. Familiarity with cloud environments (AWS, Azure, or GCP) and container orchestration systems like Kubernetes. Relevant Certifications in DevOps or related fields are a plus.
