Job Description
- Designing and implementing new network solutions and/or improving the efficiency of current networks.
- Installing, configuring, and supporting network equipment including routers, proxy servers, switches, WAN accelerators,Firewalls, DNS, and DHCP.
- Experience with Cisco, HP, and Juniper switches through practical application.
- Proficiency in routing protocols including OSPF, BGP, and EIGRP.
- Familiarity with switching concepts such as STP, RSTP, LLDP, CDP, VLAN, etc.
- Understanding of HSRP and VRRP.
- Good understanding of VPN technology: IPsec, SSL, GRE
- Good understanding of OSI and TCP/IP model
- Procuring network equipment and managing subcontractors involved with network installation.
- Maximizing network performance through ongoing monitoring and troubleshooting.
- Arranging scheduled upgrades.
- Investigating faults in the network.
- Updating network equipment to the latest firmware releases.
- Replacing faulty network hardware components when required.
- Monitoring network performance to determine if adjustments need to be made.
