Medhavi Skills University, School of Health Science and Technology announces an open
competition for the following position
Job Title: Laboratory Assistant of Department of Medical Laboratory Technology
(MLT)
Job Summary: The Laboratory Assistant supports laboratory operations by preparing and
maintaining equipment, conducting tests, and ensuring a clean and organized workspace.
This role is crucial for maintaining the efficiency and accuracy of laboratory work and
supporting the research and analysis conducted by scientists and researchers.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Preparation and Maintenance:
o Prepare laboratory equipment, reagents, and samples for experiments and
tests.
o Maintain and clean laboratory equipment and ensure proper storage.
o Monitor and order supplies to ensure availability of necessary materials.
2. Conducting Tests and Experiments:
o Assist with the setup and execution of laboratory experiments and
procedures.
o Record and document experimental results, observations, and data
accurately.
o Assist in the calibration and maintenance of laboratory instruments.
3. Data Management:
o Compile and organize data from experiments and tests.
o Assist in data analysis and interpretation as needed.
o Ensure all laboratory records are maintained and updated according to
protocols.
4. Safety and Compliance:

o Adhere to safety protocols and procedures to ensure a safe working
environment.
o Properly handle and dispose of hazardous materials according to safety
guidelines.
o Ensure compliance with laboratory regulations and quality standards.
5. Administrative Support:
o Assist in preparing reports, presentations, and documentation for research
and projects.
o Coordinate with other laboratory staff and researchers to support ongoing
projects.
o Provide general administrative support as required.
Qualifications:
• Education: Bachelor in Medical Laboratory Technology or Diploma in Medical
Laboratory Technology with 2-3 years of experience.
• Experience: Previous laboratory experience or coursework in a scientific discipline
is preferred.
• Skills:
o Basic knowledge of laboratory techniques and equipment.
o Proficiency in using laboratory instruments and software.
o Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.
o Attention to detail and accuracy in data recording.
o Good communication and interpersonal skills.
• Certifications: Certification in laboratory safety or specific techniques may be
required or preferred.
Physical Requirements:
• Ability to lift and carry laboratory supplies and equipment.
• Capability to stand for extended periods and perform repetitive tasks.
Other duties as assigned by the HoD/Dean of the concerned School.
