Production Manager

Production Manager is responsible for overseeing all aspects of shop floor operations, ensuring that production goals are met efficiently and safely. This role involves managing the workforce, optimizing production processes, maintaining quality standards, and fostering a culture of continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities:

• Production Management:
• Plan, schedule, and oversee production activities to meet production targets.
• Monitor production processes and adjust schedules as needed to maintain workflow.
• Ensure the efficient use of resources, including materials, equipment, and labor.
• Troubleshoot and resolve production issues promptly to minimize downtime.
• Shop Floor Supervision:
• Oversee daily operations on the shop floor, ensuring compliance with safety and quality standards.
• Conduct regular inspections and audits to ensure adherence to operational procedures.
• Coordinate with maintenance teams to ensure machinery and equipment are in good working condition.
• Man Management:
• Lead, mentor, and manage a team of production workers, supervisors, and technicians.
• Conduct performance evaluations and provide feedback and development opportunities.
• Foster a positive work environment that encourages teamwork, communication, and accountability.
• Address employee concerns and disciplinary issues as needed.
• Quality Control:
• Implement and maintain quality control procedures to ensure products meet required specifications.
• Work with the quality assurance team to address non-conformance issues and implement corrective actions.
• Promote a culture of quality awareness and continuous improvement among the workforces.
• Continuous Improvement:
• Identify and implement process improvements to increase efficiency, reduce waste, and lower costs.
• Stay updated on industry best practices and emerging technologies.
• Lead or participate in lean manufacturing initiatives and other continuous improvement projects.
• Health & Safety:
• Ensure compliance with all health and safety regulations and company policies.
• Promote a safety-first culture and conduct regular safety training and drills.
• Investigate accidents and incidents and implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
• Reporting and Documentation:
• Prepare and present production reports, metrics, and analysis to senior management.
• Maintain accurate records of production activities, inventory levels, and workforce performance.
• Develop and update standard operating procedures (SOPs) and work instructions.

Qualifications:

• Bachelors degree in engineering, Manufacturing, Industrial Management, or a related field.
• Minimum of 6-8 years of experience in a manufacturing environment, with at least 3 years in a supervisory or management role.
• Strong knowledge of production management principles, lean manufacturing, and continuous improvement methodologies.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Proficiency in production planning software and Microsoft Office Suite.
• Ability to work under pressure and handle multiple priorities effectively.
• Knowledge of health and safety regulations and practices.
• Preferred Qualifications:
• Experience in the HVAC, automotive, electronics, consumer goods manufacturing sector.
• Familiarity with ERP systems and advanced manufacturing technologies.
