Environment Legal Compliance Engineer

Position Title: Environment Legal Compliance Engineer
Location: Jaipur

Job Purpose:
The Environment Legal Compliance Officer is responsible for ensuring that the organization adheres to all environmental laws and regulations, with a focus on pollution control, air and water quality, and relevant norms such as CHWA, PESO, DSO, EPR, and related acts. This role involves engaging with government officials, working with environmental consultants, handling consent applications, and assessing compliance opportunities for environmental improvement.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Legal Compliance Management:
   
• Ensure compliance with environmental regulations, including pollution control (air, water, noise), and related norms.
• Stay up to date with national and regional environmental laws, such as CHWA, PESO, DSO, EPR, and others.
• Manage the filing and renewal of environmental consent applications and related documentation.
• Implement legal compliance strategies to meet environmental standards, preventing violations and fines.
2. Interaction with Government Officials:
   
• Liaise with government agencies, local authorities, and other regulatory bodies related to environmental matters.
• Facilitate environmental audits, inspections, and investigations as required by regulatory bodies.
• Maintain communication with officials to ensure timely resolution of compliance-related issues.
3. Consultant Coordination:
   
• Work closely with external environmental consultants for compliance assessments and improvement recommendations.
• Coordinate the development of reports, documentation, and procedures as per regulatory requirements.
4. Environmental Documentation & Reporting:
   
• Prepare and submit required documents and reports for environmental compliance and regulatory approvals.
• Ensure the accuracy and timeliness of submissions related to pollution, waste management, air/water quality, etc.
• Maintain accurate and organized records of compliance activities and correspondence.
5. Continuous Improvement & Audits:
   
• Conduct regular audits of environmental practices within the organization to identify areas of non-compliance and opportunities for improvement.
• Recommend corrective actions and implement best practices to reduce environmental impact.
• Participate in the development and enforcement of environmental policies and procedures.
6. Training and Awareness:
   
• Conduct internal training sessions on environmental legal compliance for staff, especially in the shop floor environment.
• Promote awareness of environmental norms, pollution control practices, and sustainability efforts.

• Compliance Implementation: Timely and effective implementation of environmental compliance processes and legal obligations.
• Audit & Improvement: Successful identification and implementation of opportunities for environmental process improvement through regular audits.
• Regulatory Relations: Positive working relationships with government officials and regulatory bodies, with minimal compliance issues or violations.
• Documentation & Reporting: Accurate and timely completion of required environmental reports and filings.
