Job Description

Essential Qualifications:
  • Bachelor s or master s degree in engineering , (Mechanical, Electrical, Electronics, Computer Science, or a related field); MBA or equivalent management degree is an added advantage
  • 15-20 years of experience managing and leading diverse engineering teams with multi-domain expertise, preferably in an MNC environment
  • Strong experience in stakeholder management and the ability to build and maintain strategic relationships with counterparts in the U.S. and Europe.
  • Proven track record of balancing in-house project execution with outsourced models , including selecting and managing outsourcing partners.
  • Demonstrated skills in people management, team building, and organizational leadership .
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills , with the ability to pitch and promote the GIC s services effectively.
  • Proficiency in handling budgets, resource allocation, and operational planning for large, multi-functional teams.

  • Flexibility and readiness to undertake local or international travel as required.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Strategic Project Allocation:
    • Determine project execution strategies, deciding which projects should be managed in- house versus those suitable for outsourcing, ensuring optimal resource utilization.
  • Stakeholder Management:
    • Build and sustain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including U.S. and European counterparts, to promote collaboration and strategic alignment across geographies.
    • Act as an advocate for the GIC s capabilities, effectively communicating value and pitching services to global stakeholders to secure support and project buy-in.
  • Entrepreneurship:
    • Lead each business unit or function as an entrepreneur.
    • Develop and grow your businesses in alignment with GIC s strategy and vision
    • Deliver maximum value back to Marmon
    • Drive data driven decision making process in the collective interest of business and our people
  • People & Organizational Leadership:
    • Lead, mentor, and grow a multi-domain, multi-skilled team of engineers, fostering a culture of innovation, excellence, and accountability.
    • Oversee workforce planning, talent acquisition, and development efforts to establish high-performing teams, both for ongoing operations and new business opportunities.
    • Set and monitor performance metrics, ensuring team goals are aligned with broader business objectives.
    • Coach and guide team members and plan their career growth trajectory and develop succession plans for all key roles.
    • Identify training and development needs within the team and provide the required means and options for the team to grow their skills and capabilities.
    • Handle the performance management effectively
  • Business Development & Expansion:
    • Collaborate with executive leadership to identify and implement new business opportunities.
    • Drive the setup of new teams and functions to support emerging areas of business and align with the evolving needs of the organization.
  • Operational Excellence:
    • Ensure that engineering teams operate efficiently, meet quality standards, and deliver projects on time and within budget.
    • Leverage industry best practices to drive continuous improvement, foster operational innovation, and enhance productivity across the teams.
