Buying Executive-Foods Development

Key Deliverables of the Role:

• Ensure uninterrupted and consistent supply of compliant RMs from approved suppliers to Marico facilities
• Coordinate with existing vendors to improve on quality, cost, innovation, delivery and sustainability metrics
• Support CQA for implementation of Food Safety systems at manufacturing facilities of suppliers, validate through periodic facility audits, and jointly work with suppliers to close gaps within timeframe
• Support sourcing strategies through New Vendor Development and managing entire onboarding process (product and specifications briefing, product approval, facility audit, pre-shipment sample, and commercial product approval)
• Assessment of capabilities of new vendors through facility visits, vendor development as per defined quality standards and improving their processes through vendor performance rating
• Coordinate with CQA, Plant QC/QA, product development teams on addressing any quality complaints, facilitate risk assessment, establish RCA with suppliers and drive effectiveness of CAPA
• Manage change management process and ensure any changes are thoroughly evaluated and signed off by suppliers prior to implementation
• Execute process improvement & value generation ideas by building partnership with vendors, sharing of best practices, benchmarking processes, supplier trainings/workshops, and sharing of key learnings
• Monthly reviews with key internal stakeholders (CQA, plant QC/QA) for vendor capability development, process improvement
• Joint review of vendor performance on key metrics along with buying team, and address concerns of suppliers impacting their performance
• Coordinate with corporate QA to conduct annual supplier quality event, periodic trainings/workshops

Knowledge, Skills & Competencies:­

• Understanding of Food Safety Management System, Regulatory norms (FSSAI/FSSC), BRC & ISO requirements
• Understanding of risk assessment tools like HACCP/VACCP/TACCP, RCA tools, and CAPA effectiveness
• Functional Knowledge of Foods and Agriculture Commodities
• Eye for detailing
