Job Description


JOB DESCRIPTION

  1. Position: Manager – Medical Affairs (MA) for Speciality Divisions.
  2. Location: Sea-Woods, Navi Mumbai. Maharashtra. India.
  3. Reporting: Vice President & Head – Medical Affairs, Mankind Specialities.


  1. Roles & Responsibilities:


  1. Develop and Update Standard Response Documents (SRDs) based on available sources (e.g., prescribing information, medical literature, data on file) ensuring comprehensive, high quality, and scientifically accurate medical information.


  1. Conduct Continuing Medical Education (CME), Webinars and other programs:
    1. Identify topics that arouse interest in our target customers to organise conferences/webinars/CME to create long-term industry relationships for all target customers including but not limited to doctors, nurses, and other medical assistants.
    2. Formation of Advisory Board, identification of KOLs for the same, Selection of KOLs and Institutions for Clinical Studies and related work as defined.
    3. Coordination of national and international KOLs meeting for consensus development and formation of guidelines.
    4. Publication in Medical Journals, as applicable.


  1. Marketing Promotions:
    1. Undertake exhaustive literature search to find latest references that have been published to generate marketing material
    2. To take steps such as videos, training materials to increase knowledge about the medical conditions and/or products


  1. Post Marketing Surveillance - Phase 4 Clinical Trials
    1. To identify key clinical parameters for our key brands and take relevant actions to support usage.
    2. To create Therapy Maps to identify and conduct studies for maximum impact to the brands and/or SBU, eg. Investigator Initiated Studies (IIS).
    3. To address ADR and provide training on Pharmacovigilance and Safety.


  1. Market Research
    1. To actively conduct market research programs throughout the target markets to monitor brand performance, seek out competitor information, medical research to enable relevant brands and SBUs be the driving force to bring breakthroughs to market through new products, CMEs, Conferences, Webinars, and/or marketing.
    2. Identification, screening & evaluation of unmet clinical needs for the given specialty and working in closely with the business development team to create a credible future product pipeline.
    3. To seek out target customers to identify the therapeutic gaps and communicate internally to promote the company’s research strength.


  1. Training and Development
    1. To actively assess, monitor, and train Sales and Marketing personnel on medical knowledge and relevant current events to drive engagement.
    2. To train new joinees, develop medical training materials, regularly update the same, develop E-learning modules and conduct Quize/MCQ Test for evaluation.


  1. Research & Development
    1. Dedicated research on new drug delivery systems/platforms available globally that can be applied to existing and new formulations with a view to address therapeutic gaps, improved safety and/or efficacy to patients.
    2. Research, analyse, and report clinical feedback (including but not limited to SWOT, SBU fitment, comparative pharmacological analysis among other strategic variations) for Phase III Vaccine candidates across the world on a weekly basis.
    3. To prepare position papers on new products, Novel Drug Delivery Systems and its possible applications, and other relevant medical initiatives to aid selection of products and build sustainable brands.


  1. Qualifications & Work Experience:
  2. MBBS/MD, M. Pharm, PhD (healthcare or life sciences), PharmD. (Pharmacology).

Acute & Chronic - therapeutic area experience and knowledge preferred.

  1. Strong scientific/medical writing skills with history of creating clear, concise, and compelling medical letters
  2. Proven literature analysis and evaluation skills (ability to navigate through commonly used databases such as PubMed, Ovid, Embase, etc.)
  3. Understanding of scientific and medical language and clinical trial methodology, from ideation till publication.
  4. Ability to acquire knowledge of various disease states and products
  5. Excellence in verbal and written communication skills, Proficient in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and technologically savvy
  6. Ability to manage multiple projects within defined timelines.
  7. Strong ability to partner cross-functionally with colleagues across departments and geography.


  1. Performance Management:
  2. Number of CMEs/Webinars conducted per brand for the allocated SBUs.
  3. Training Programs, Clinical Trials, KOL interactions and Self Development.
  4. Achievement of KRAs.


  1. Development and Carrier Progression:
  2. Achievement of Yearly Individual KRAs.
  3. Contribute to talent and career development of colleagues through active participation in on-boarding, training and mentoring activities.
  4. During 2-3 years the candidate should contribute in all the areas related to strategic medical decisions for all the SBUs dedicated to his role / responsibility.
