Hiring For Manager - Funds Assurance - Gurgaon (UK Offshore Team)

Role & responsibilities

• Lead and manage assurance engagements for a portfolio of investment funds, including private equity, hedge funds, and mutual funds.

• Review and assess financial statements for compliance with International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS), Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), and other relevant regulations.

• Conduct detailed financial analysis and assess internal controls, risk management, and compliance practices.

• Supervise and mentor a team of assurance associates and senior assurance associates, providing guidance, feedback, and professional development.

• Develop and maintain strong client relationships, understanding their business operations, goals, and challenges.

• Coordinate with clients to collect necessary information, documentation, and access to fund records.

• Evaluate and test internal control systems, operational processes, and financial reporting mechanisms.

• Identify assurance risks, recommend solutions, and propose effective strategies for improving operational efficiency and compliance.

• Review fund documentation, including fund agreements, offering memoranda, and investment strategies to ensure proper financial reporting and compliance.

• Prepare and review assurance reports, including findings, conclusions, and recommendations.

• Ensure the timely completion of assurances and that all deliverables are met, in line with deadlines and client expectations.

• Collaborate effectively with the India-based offshore team to ensure the delivery of high-quality assurance work to the UK clients.

• Stay up to date with changes in financial regulations, assurance standards, and fund industry trends to ensure assurances are conducted in accordance with the latest requirements.

Preferred candidate profile

• Certified Public Accountant (CPA), Chartered Accountant (CA), or equivalent professional certification is required.
• Minimum of 5+ years of experience in assurance, with at least 3 years focused on assurance investment funds.
• In-depth knowledge of fund structures, accounting, and regulatory frameworks governing investment funds (e.g., SEC regulations, AICPA, IFRS, GAAP).
• Strong understanding of investment vehicles such as hedge funds, private equity funds, mutual funds, and other alternative investments.
• Proven experience in managing teams and leading assurances from planning to completion.
• Exceptional analytical skills and the ability to evaluate complex financial data.
• Strong communication skills, with the ability to present assurance findings and interact with senior management and clients.
• Detail-oriented, with excellent organizational and time-management skills.
• Proficiency in assurance software, Microsoft Excel, and other relevant financial tools.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience working in a global or large-scale assurance firm (Big 4-8 assurance firms) with a focus on financial services or investment funds.

• UK Experience onsite or offshore preferred.
