Preferred candidate profile
1. Education: A bachelor's degree in business administration, supply chain management, hospitality management, or a related field. A master's degree or professional certifications like Certified Purchasing Manager (CPM) or Certified Professional in Supply Management (CPSM) can be advantageous.
2. Experience: Several years of experience in procurement, preferably in the hospitality industry or a related field. Experience in purchasing goods and services specific to resorts, such as food and beverage, linens, equipment, and amenities, is highly desirable.
3. Industry Knowledge: In-depth knowledge of procurement practices, vendor management, and inventory control within the hospitality or resort industry. Understanding of industry trends, suppliers, and market dynamics is important.
4. Negotiation Skills: Strong negotiation skills to secure favorable terms and pricing from vendors while maintaining quality standards.
5. Analytical Skills: Ability to analyze data, identify cost-saving opportunities, and make data-driven decisions to optimize procurement processes and reduce expenses.
