ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITY:
- Develop new repairs for commercial engine components by utilizing conventional or innovative repair techniques.
- Evaluate engine component damages reported by customer/airline to develop repair schemes and coordinate with engine manufactures for timely approval of repair schemes.
- Evaluating the cost advantage between repairing a part & buying a new part and ensuring cost savings for airline customer.
- Developing repair technical data on engine components at On-Wing, AOG level like Borescope Blending, Chasing of threads, Adhesive fill and Touch up repairs on composite parts.
- Evaluating service bulletins (SB), Airworthiness Directives (AD), etc issued by aircraft/engine manufactures.
- Creating Substantiation Memo documents and Instructions for Continued Airworthiness (ICA’s) in accordance with FAA code of federal regulations for applicable repair scheme.
- Co-ordination with other disciplines like IPT leads, Structures, Design, Metallurgy, Standard Practices and Customer Technical Support in evaluating the repair technical data.
- Performing quality checks to improve the quality of the product within on-time schedule with first time acceptance and customer satisfaction.
SKILLS / COMPETENCE:
Must have:
- 5 - 7 Years of experience in repair development engineering
- A good team player, people leader who can work well under pressure or in stressful and demanding situations or environments.
- Well aware of Aircraft /Aero Engine components and functional details along with their operation procedures.
- Good at understanding in various repair processes (e.g Machining, Thermal spray coating/plating, Welding, Paint, NDT & Cleaning) & Engineering drawings.
- Having good knowledge on GD&T and ASME Y14.5 1994 standards.
- Effective communicator and should have the ability to lead client discussions with all stakeholders on Technical subject related and take decisions accordingly.
- Competent in MS office applications.
- Ability to train, mentor and control the new joiners in the team.
