Assistant General Manager - Compensation & Benefits

Key Responsibilities:

1. Payroll Processing and Administration:

o Oversee end-to-end payroll processing for all India-based employees, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and compliance.

• Manage end-to-end operations for Car lease program
• Manage monthly payroll calculations, deductions, tax withholdings, and statutory filings. o Collaborate with finance teams to ensure accurate accounting entries and reconciliations.

2. Compliance and Statutory Adherence:

• Ensure payroll practices adhere to local tax and labor laws and company policies.
• Stay updated on changes to payroll regulations, statutory contributions, and compliance requirements.
• Handle statutory audits and respond to any regulatory inquiries or inspections.

3. Vendor Management:

• Liaise with external payroll service providers and ensure the delivery of efficient and effective payroll services.
• Review vendor performance, manage contracts, and address any issues or escalations.

4. Employee Queries and Issue Resolution:

• Address payroll-related queries from employees promptly and professionally.
• Resolve any discrepancies, complaints, or escalations related to payroll processing.

5. Process Improvement:

• Identify and implement process improvements in payroll operations to increase efficiency and accuracy.
• Work with HR and Finance teams to enhance payroll data management and reporting capabilities

6. Reporting and Analysis:

• Generate payroll reports for finance, HR, and leadership, including monthly and annual payroll summaries.
• Conduct payroll analysis and provide insights to support decision-making and budgeting processes.

7. Policy and Documentation:

• Develop and maintain payroll policies, procedures, and documentation.
• Ensure confidentiality and security of employee payroll data

Qualifications and Skills:

• Education: Bachelors degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field. Advanced degree or professional certification (e.g., CPP) is a plus.
• Experience: Minimum 10-13 years of payroll experience, with at least 1 year in a leadership role managing payroll for India.
• Technical Skills: Strong knowledge of payroll systems, SAP or similar payroll software preferred. Proficient in MS Excel and data analysis.
• Knowledge: In-depth understanding of Indian payroll regulations, tax laws, and statutory requirements.
• Soft Skills: Excellent communication, problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and ability to manage time and priorities effectively.
• Leadership: Proven experience in managing teams and collaborating across departments.
