Job Description
Data Privacy Management:
o Develop, implement, and maintain data protection policies and procedures.
o Ensure compliance with data protection laws and regulations (eg, GDPR, CCPA).
o Conduct data protection impact assessments (DPIAs) and audits.
o Monitor data processing activities to ensure compliance with privacy policies.
o The organization s data privacy and protection function to ensure compliance with various regulations and best practices.
o Implementing the company s Data Privacy/Protection Policy, and ensuring it is adhered to throughout the organisation.
o Creating guidelines for all members of staff and checking that they are resolutely followed.
o Conducting data protection impact assessments and internal audits.
o To work closely with the Legal, Compliance, Information Technology and Programs functions to develop and monitor policies and standards applicable to the business and in compliance with applicable data protection regulations.
o Implementing and maintaining a privacy governance framework to manage data use in compliance with applicable data protection regulations, including developing policies, standards and templates for data collection, and assists with data mapping, and vendor management reviews.
o Collaborating with the members of the Information Security function to maintain records of all data assets and exports and maintains a data security incident management plan to ensure timely remediation of incidents including impact assessments, security breach response, complaints, claims or notifications and responds to subject access requests (SARs).
o Participates in the Data and Information Technology Governance Committees o Working with key internal stakeholders in the review of projects, related data, and agreements to ensure compliance with local data privacy laws, and where necessary, complete and advise on privacy impact assessments.
o Organising training courses for relevant employees, whether in-house or at external locations.
o Providing information when necessary to senior management, often involving highly sensitive data.
o Making sure all data is up to date, and that policies involving destruction of data are followed.
Regulatory Compliance:
o Stay updated on changes in data protection laws and regulations.
o Serve as the point of contact for data protection authorities.
o Manage data breach response and notification processes.
o Prepare and submit required reports to regulatory bodies.
Training and Awareness:
o Develop and deliver training programs on data protection and privacy.
o Promote a culture of data protection and privacy awareness across the organization.
o Provide guidance and support to employees on data protection matters.
Experience
Minimum of [11] years of experience in data protection, privacy, or a related field.
Qualifications
Bachelor s degree in law, Information Security, or a related field.
Relevant certifications (eg, CIPP/E, CIPM, CIPT) are highly desirable.
