Job Description
Job Purpose:
The Deputy Manager - Maintenance is responsible for overseeing the maintenance operations within the organization, ensuring that equipment, machinery, and facilities are in optimal working condition. This role involves managing maintenance schedules, supervising technical teams, and ensuring compliance with safety and regulatory standards.
Key Responsibilities: - Maintenance Planning & Execution:
- Develop and implement preventive maintenance schedules to ensure the smooth operation of machinery, equipment, and infrastructure.
- Oversee breakdown maintenance and emergency repairs, ensuring minimal downtime.
- Coordinate with vendors and contractors for outsourced maintenance services.
- Track and report on maintenance activities, ensuring adherence to schedules.
- Team Management:
- Supervise and lead the maintenance team, providing guidance and training as needed.
- Ensure that team members adhere to safety guidelines and best practices in maintenance operations.
- Allocate resources and tasks effectively to ensure timely completion of maintenance activities.
- Conduct performance reviews and provide ongoing feedback to team members.
- Compliance & Safety:
- Ensure compliance with company policies, local regulations, and industry standards related to safety and environmental impact.
- Perform regular safety inspections and audits to identify potential hazards and mitigate risks.
- Ensure proper documentation for all maintenance activities, including service records, safety inspections, and compliance reports.
- Budgeting & Cost Control:
- Assist in the preparation of the maintenance budget, ensuring efficient utilization of resources.
- Monitor expenses and suggest cost-effective solutions without compromising quality.
- Maintain inventory of spare parts and ensure timely procurement to avoid project delays.
- Reporting & Analysis:
- Prepare and submit regular reports on maintenance performance, equipment uptime, and project status to senior management.
- Analyze maintenance data to identify trends and propose improvements.
- Assist in the preparation of performance reports for key stakeholders.
- Continuous Improvement:
- Drive initiatives for continuous improvement in maintenance processes and systems.
- Stay updated on the latest technologies and best practices in maintenance management.
- Implement new systems and tools to improve efficiency and productivity.

- In-depth knowledge of maintenance procedures, machinery, and equipment.
- Familiarity with Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS) and other maintenance software.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot mechanical and electrical issues.
- Soft Skills:
- Strong leadership and team management skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong analytical and organizational skills.
- Full-time position, typically working during regular business hours, with the possibility of on-call duties for emergency repairs.
- Occasional travel to different work sites as required.
