About the Role:
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Quality Assurance Manager to join our team and play a vital role in ensuring the quality and safety of our edible oil and fat products.
As a critical thinker and leader, you will be responsible for proactively improving our quality systems, fostering a culture of quality excellence, and ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations.
Responsibilities:
- Lead and oversee all aspects of the company's quality assurance (QA) and quality control (QC) programs.
- Conduct internal audits to identify and address potential quality issues.
- Participate in process improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency and effectiveness of QA/QC procedures.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams (production, R&D, sales) to ensure quality is embedded throughout the entire product lifecycle.
- Maintain a deep understanding of relevant food safety regulations (FSSAI, Agmark, Weights & Measures, Codex, etc.
- Ensure all products comply with established quality standards and regulatory requirements.
- Liaise effectively with regulatory authorities to address any concerns or inquiries.
- Provide leadership and guidance to a team of analysts and chemists in the quality control laboratory.
- Oversee the proper functioning and maintenance of laboratory equipment (GC, HPLC, NMR, MS, Spectrophotometers, etc.
- Ensure adherence to laboratory safety protocols and best practices.
- Respond promptly and effectively to customer complaints related to product quality.
- Conduct root cause analysis (RCA) to identify the source of quality issues and implement corrective and preventive actions (CAPA).
- Foster strong relationships with customers and vendors to maintain high levels of quality and satisfaction.
- Possess a strong understanding of organic and inorganic chemistry principles and their applications in the food industry.
- Demonstrate expertise in quality management systems (ISO, FSSC 22000, GMP, GHP) and relevant food safety standards (Kosher, Halal, etc.
- Proficient in utilizing process-driven QA/QC tools and methodologies.
Qualifications:
- Education: Master's degree (M.Sc) or Bachelor's degree (B.E / B.Tech) in a relevant field (Analytical/Organic/Biochemistry/Oil Technology/Chemical Engineering) with a first-class grade from a reputed institute.
Experience:
- 12-15 years of hands-on experience in the Edible Oils/Foods/FMCG industry, with at least 7 years specifically focused on Edible Oils & Fats.
- Proven track record of leading and managing a quality assurance/control team.
- Experience in liaising with regulatory bodies, customers, and vendors.
Skills:
- Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Proactive and results-oriented with a keen eye for detail.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Proficiency in quality management systems and relevant food safety standards.
- Strong knowledge of laboratory safety protocols and equipment operation
