Senior Manager Actuarial

Role & responsibilities

1. IFRS 17 Reporting:
• Aggregate IFRS 17 results from various systems and templates to create a comprehensive understanding of financial outcomes.
• Analyse movements in individual line items on balance sheets and P&L statements for different products, including non-profit, with-profit, shareholder, and policyholder products.
2. Result Analysis and Commentary:
• Interpret and make sense of the consolidated IFRS 17 results, identifying key drivers of financial performance.
• Provide detailed and insightful commentary on changes from previous reporting periods, highlighting significant trends and anomalies.
3. Presentation and Communication:
• Present technical concepts and findings to senior management clearly and concisely.
• Ensure all communications are tailored to the audience, facilitating understanding and informed decision-making.
4. Stakeholder Interaction:
• Engage with key stakeholders to understand reporting requirements and deliver results accordingly.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with stakeholders to ensure effective communication.

Preferred candidate profile

• 5-7 years or more of relevant Actuarial experience with understanding of IFRS 17 or SII.
• A close to qualification or a Qualified Actuary from IAI or IFoA with preference of specialisation in SA2.
• Good level of understanding of the Financial Services industry and regulatory environment.
• Some knowledge of significant regulatory processes within M&G India UK operations.
• Good knowledge of M&G India/ Insurance company's products.
• Experience of financial reporting and/or actuarial modelling for a Life Assurance company. A mix of valuation/pricing/modelling experience can also be preferred.
• Thorough understanding of at least two function / team within Actuarial and ability to deliver on assigned tasks independently.
