Logistics Accountant and MIS Specialist

Job Overview

The Logistics Accountant and MIS Specialist manages the finances of logistics operations and provides important reports to help the business make better decisions. This role involves handling the costs of transportation, warehousing, and distribution, and generating reports to track performance and expenses.

Key Responsibilities

Accounting

• Record day-to-day financial transactions and complete the posting process.
• Process invoices, payments, receipts, and petty cash.
• Reconcile accounts and prepare accurate financial reports.
• Assist with accounts payable and receivable functions.
• Ensure compliance with company financial policies and procedures.
• Assist in preparing monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.

Logistics Management

• Coordinate with suppliers, vendors, and logistics partners for timely shipment and delivery.
• Monitor inventory levels and track incoming/outgoing shipments.
• Prepare and maintain shipping documents and invoices.
• Resolve any issues related to delays, damaged goods, or order discrepancies.
• Collaborate with internal teams to forecast and manage stock requirements.

MIS Reporting

• Collect and compile data from various departments to generate comprehensive MIS reports.
• Analyse data to assist in business decision-making and provide performance insights.
• Update, maintain, and enhance databases and reporting systems.
• Identify trends, prepare summary reports, and communicate findings with relevant teams.
• Ensure data accuracy and integrity across all reporting platforms.

Qualifications

• Education: Bachelors degree in Accounting, Finance.
• Proven experience in accounting, logistics, or MIS roles is preferred.
• Strong proficiency in accounting software (e.g., Busy, Tally) and MS Office Suite, (Advance Excel).
• Excellent communication (written & verbal).
• Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Effective and problem-solving skills, organizational and time-management skills.
