Job Description
Responsibilities
Design, develop, and maintain data pipelines and ETL processes
Implement and optimize Spark jobs, data transformations, and data processing workflows
Develop and integrate custom machine learning models
Ensure data quality and integrity across various data sources
Implement data security and compliance best practices
Monitor data pipeline performance and conduct necessary maintenance and updates
Document data pipeline processes and technical specifications
Collaborate closely with data engineers, data scientists, and other stakeholders
Guide other developers to deliver high-quality projects
Skills
Must have
Strong proficiency in Apache Spark, understanding of data engineering principles, knowledge of SQL, familiarity with cloud infrastructure (like AWS, Azure, or GCP), basic coding skills in Python or Scala, and the ability to navigate and manage Databricks notebooks and jobs; essentially requiring a blend of data engineering, programming, and cloud computing expertise.
Nice to have
Advanced Python/Scala programming: For complex data processing and custom Spark application development.
Data visualization: Creating insightful data visualizations using tools like Matplotlib or Plotly.
Data governance and security: Implementing data access controls and security best practices on Databricks.
Collaboration skills: Sharing and collaborating on notebooks with team members.
Cloud architecture design: Understanding cloud architecture principles and designing data solutions on the cloud.
