As a Senior Site Reliability Engineer, you will empower our engineering teams to efficiently scale cloud infrastructure, cloud platforms, and internal developer tools to support our next-generation digital products. In this role, you will collaborate with a diverse team of engineers, developers, and solution architects to implement and maintain robust, modern software delivery systems across a range of software products.

Primary Responsibilities

• Define and Own SRE Metrics:
• Develop and maintain key reliability metrics, such as Service Level Indicators (SLIs), Service Level Objectives (SLOs), and Service Level Agreements (SLAs) in line with the business goals
• Continuously assess and improve the reliability of our systems, ensuring they meet defined metrics.
• Implement SRE Principles:
• Deliver reliable and scalable solutions by following SRE principles such as automation, infrastructure as code (IaC), and proactive cost monitoring and failure detection.
• Collaborate with engineering and operations teams to ensure the alignment of architecture and design with reliability goals.
• Incorporate security best practices into all aspects of SRE work, ensuring systems are resilient against vulnerabilities and threats.
• Develop and Implement Monitoring Best Practices:
• Establish and document best practices for system monitoring, backup, restore, disaster recovery (DR), and resiliency processes.
• Ensure comprehensive coverage of monitoring, including vulnerability checks, application performance, infrastructure health, and user experience.
• Integrate necessary tooling for monitoring, alerting, and on-call management.
• Own Incident Management Process:
• Lead the development and continuous improvement of the incident management process.
• Own and maintain incident management tools, integrating them with monitoring and alerting systems to reduce mean time to resolution (MTTR).
• Continuous Improvement:
• Actively contribute to the improvement of systems and processes, driving initiatives to increase efficiency, reliability, and scalability.
• Establish standards for weekly review of incidents to proactively drive improvements.
• Mentor and guide engineers in SRE best practices and principles.

Qualifications

• At least 6 years of professional experience in systems engineering
• At least 4 years of experience programming in Shell script, JavaScript, Python etc
• At least 4 years Amazon Web Services cloud components, including Compute, Network and Storage (IaaS and PaaS) and services
• At least 4 years of experience delivering infrastructure as code with CloudFormation and other frameworks like SAM, Terraform etc
• At least 4 years of experience supporting production applications
• At least 4 years of experience providing escalated on-call support
• At least 4 years of experience in release management
• Familiarity with containerization, especially Kubernetes
• Bachelors degree or equivalent practical experience

Preferred Qualifications

• AWS Certified DevOps - Professional
• AWS Certified Solutions Architect Associate
• Hands on experience with Observability Platforms
