About the Team :

The Data, Applied AI and Analytics group (DACI) has the crucial role of enabling strategic decision-making and enhancing overall business performance. In particular, it is responsible for data management and governance, business intelligence, generating insights and enabling AI driven use cases within Lowe s. It also enables visibility to key performance metrics and OKR for various business functions such as Marketing, Merchandising, Pricing, Stores and Supply Chain. In particular, the Merchandising division of DACI focuses on handling product and vendor data and delivering data driven insights with reports and dashboards; and developing AI-enabled planning tools that empowers the Lowe s Merchants and Business teams. The team utilizes cutting edge technologies from open source as well as public cloud (GCP, Azure etc) to build highly scalable data and AI products.

Job Summary:

Executing direction from leadership, delivering results that align with strategic objectives, communicating critical information to other teams, managing vendor relationships, developing processes that align to organizational goals, specific technical skills required for managing a process.

The primary purpose of this role is to translate business requirements and functional specifications into logical program designs and to deliver code modules, stable application systems, and software solutions. This includes developing, configuring, or modifying complex integrated business and/or enterprise application solutions within various computing environments. This role facilitates the implementation and maintenance of complex business and enterprise software solutions to ensure successful deployment of released applications.

You will partner closely with multiple Business partners, Product Owners, Data Strategy, Data Platform, Data Science and Machine Learning (MLOps) teams to drive innovative data products for end users. Additionally, you will help shape overall solution data products, develop scalable solutions through best-in-class engineering practices.

Roles Responsibilities:

Core Responsibilities:

• Software Development: Design, code, test, and deploy software applications in accordance with business requirements.
• System Integration: Collaborate with other teams to integrate applications with existing systems, APIs, and third-party services.
• Troubleshooting and Debugging: Identify and resolve software defects, performance issues, and other technical challenges.
• Documentation: Create and maintain documentation for code, architecture, and systems processes.
• Collaboration: Work closely with product managers, UX/UI designers, and other stakeholders to understand requirements and deliver solutions.
• Code Reviews: Participate in code reviews to ensure quality, security, and performance standards are met.
• Continuous Improvement: Stay updated with emerging technologies and propose improvements to enhance software development processes.

Years of Experience:

• 2-3 years of experience in software development or a related field
• 2-3 years of experience in database technologies
• 2-3 years of experience working on project(s) involving the implementation of solutions applying development life cycles (SDLC)

Education Qualification

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelors Degree in Engineering, Computer Science, CIS, or related field
• 2-3 years of experience in software development, primarily backend
• 2 years of experience working on project(s) involving the implementation of solutions applying development life cycles (SDLC)

Preferred Qualifications

• Masters Degree in Computer Science, CIS, or related field
• 3-4 years of IT experience developing and implementing business systems within an organization

Skill Set Required

Primary Skills (must have)

• Expertise in programming languages like Java, Kotlin, Javascript, Nodejs,
• Experience with frameworks like Spring, Springboot
• Expertise in modern application architecture such as Microservices
• Knowledge of SQL and experience in relational DBs such as SQL, Postgres and NoSQL systems such as MongoDB, Kafka
• Experience in Software lifecycle tools for CI/CD and version control system such as GIT
• Familiarity with Agile methodologies is a plus.

Secondary Skills (desired)

• Experience work in GCP and familiarity with Kubernetes, Big Query, GCS, Airflow
