Business Analyst Regulatory Reporting
About the Role:
- We are seeking an experienced Business Analyst with expertise in Regulatory Reporting across European and APAC financial markets. The ideal candidate should have a strong understanding of financial regulations, compliance frameworks, and reporting requirements for regulators such as EBA, ESMA, FCA, MAS, HKMA, APRA, and RBI. This role requires collaboration with business and technology teams to ensure timely and accurate regulatory submissions.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Regulatory Compliance & Reporting:
- Gather and analyze regulatory reporting requirements for Europe (EBA, ESMA, FCA, PRA, BaFin, AMF, etc.) and APAC (MAS, HKMA, APRA, RBI, etc.).
- Ensure compliance with financial regulations such as Basel III, CRR/CRD, MiFID II, EMIR, SFTR, IFRS9, FATCA, CRS, BCBS 239, HKMA/SFC regulatory reporting, and APRA reporting requirements.
- Prepare and validate reports for submission to respective regulatory authorities.
- Support regulatory change management initiatives, ensuring compliance with new and evolving regulations.
2. Business Analysis & Documentation:
- Work with key stakeholders (Finance, Risk, Compliance, Technology) to gather business requirements for regulatory reporting.
- Develop Business Requirement Documents (BRD), Functional Requirement Documents (FRD), and Process Flow Diagrams.
- Identify reporting gaps and work on remediation plans to enhance reporting accuracy.
3. Data Management & Reconciliation:
- Extract, analyze, and reconcile large financial datasets to ensure compliance with regulatory reporting requirements.
- Perform data mapping, validation, and reconciliation across multiple source systems.
- Work with data governance teams to ensure data quality and consistency.
4. Technology & Process Improvement:
- Collaborate with IT teams to enhance regulatory reporting tools and automation processes.
- Conduct User Acceptance Testing (UAT) for system changes related to regulatory reporting.
- Identify and implement process improvements to optimize efficiency and reduce regulatory risk.
5. Stakeholder & Audit Coordination:
- Act as a bridge between business teams, compliance, finance, IT, and external regulators.
- Support internal and external audits related to EBA, ESMA, FCA, MAS, HKMA, and APRA reporting.
- Provide timely responses to regulatory inquiries and audit findings.
Key Skills & Qualifications:
- Bachelor's/Master's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, or a related field.
- Years of experience as a Business Analyst in Regulatory Reporting.
- Strong expertise in European and APAC regulatory frameworks including Basel III, CRR/CRD, MiFID II, EMIR, IFRS9, FATCA, CRS, SFTR, HKMA/SFC regulations, and APRA regulatory requirements.
- Hands-on experience with regulatory reporting tools such as AxiomSL, OneSumX, Moody's, Wolters Kluwer, Lombard Risk, or Regnology (formerly BearingPoint's Abacus).
- Proficiency in SQL, Excel, and BI tools for data extraction, validation, and analysis.
- Strong knowledge of liquidity reporting, capital adequacy, stress testing, and risk management reporting.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications (Good to Have):
- Certifications such as Financial Risk Manager (FRM), Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA), or certified Business Analyst Professional (CBAP).
- Exposure to AI/ML driven regulatory reporting solutions.
- Knowledge of cloud-based regulatory reporting platforms.
