Job Description
:
Leadership:
- Lead and mentor a team of developers, fostering a collaborative and innovative environment.
- Provide technical guidance and support to team members.
- Conduct regular code reviews to ensure high-quality code and adherence to best practices.
Backend Development:
- Design, develop, and maintain scalable backend solutions using Django.
- Optimize database performance and ensure data integrity with Postgres.
- Implement and maintain APIs to support frontend and mobile applications.
- Ensure the security, scalability, and reliability of the backend infrastructure.
- Write efficient and optimized database queries, ensuring minimal latency and high performance.
Project Management:
- Work closely with product managers, designers, and other stakeholders to define project requirements and deliverables.
- Develop and maintain project timelines, ensuring timely delivery of features and bug fixes.
- Manage technical debt and prioritize refactoring efforts.
Frontend Integration:
- Collaborate with frontend developers to ensure seamless integration between frontend and backend systems.
- Provide support and guidance on frontend development when necessary, particularly with Native technologies.
DevOps and Deployment:
- Oversee the deployment and monitoring of applications in a cloud environment.
- Implement and maintain CI/CD pipelines to ensure efficient and reliable deployments.
- Troubleshoot and resolve production issues promptly.
- Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
- 5+ years of experience in backend development, with a focus on Django and Postgres.
- Proven experience in leading and managing development teams.
- Strong understanding of software development principles and best practices.
- Experience with frontend technologies, particularly Native, is a plus.
- Proficiency in version control systems (e.g., Git) and collaboration tools (e.g., JIRA, Confluence).
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work under pressure.
- Expertise in writing optimised and efficient database queries.
- Demonstrated ability to design and implement scalable systems.
- Experience with cloud platforms - AWS
- Knowledge of containerisation technologies (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes).
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proven track record of optimising backend performance and database queries.
