Manager Legal - Commercial (Mall)

Roles and Responsibilities:

We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Manager - Legal with expertise in mall management to oversee legal operations, contract management, regulatory compliance, and risk mitigation. The ideal candidate will be responsible for drafting, reviewing, and negotiating legal documents while ensuring adherence to relevant laws and corporate policies. This role requires strong legal acumen, analytical skills, and the ability to provide strategic legal advice to support business operations.

Key Responsibilities:

Legal Advisory & Compliance:

• Provide legal guidance to the management and various departments on regulatory, contractual, and operational matters related to mall management.
• Ensure compliance with local laws, regulations, and statutory requirements governing commercial properties, leasing, and retail operations.
• Conduct legal research and analyze case laws, government regulations, and industry practices to mitigate legal risks.
• Liaise with external legal counsels, regulatory authorities, and government bodies for statutory approvals and compliance matters.

Contract & Documentation Management:

• Draft, review, and negotiate various legal documents, including:
• Lease and License Agreements
• Vendor and Service Agreements
• Letters of Intent and Term Sheets
• Non-Disclosure Agreements (NDAs)
• Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs)
• Rent Agreements and Legal Notices
• Employment and Commercial Contracts
• Ensure contracts align with legal requirements, internal policies, and business interests.
• Maintain accurate legal records, ensuring all contracts and agreements are documented properly.

Dispute Resolution & Litigation Management:

• Manage legal disputes, litigation, and arbitration related to tenants, vendors, and service providers.
• Coordinate with legal counsels to handle property disputes, contractual disagreements, and compliance issues.
• Draft and respond to legal notices and represent the company in negotiations and settlements.

Corporate Governance & Risk Management:

• Develop and implement risk management strategies to safeguard the mall’s legal and financial interests.
• Establish legal frameworks for tenant relationships, facility management, and operational policies.
• Conduct internal audits and due diligence to ensure legal and regulatory compliance.
• Provide training and legal awareness sessions to the internal teams on legal and compliance matters.

Qualifications & Skills:

• Education: Bachelor's Degree in Law (LLB); Master’s Degree (LLM) is a plus.
• Experience: Minimum 3.5+ years of experience in legal advisory, contract management, and compliance within the mall management, real estate, or commercial leasing sector.
• Key Competencies:
• Strong understanding of property laws, commercial leasing, and mall management regulations.
• Expertise in contract drafting, negotiation, and dispute resolution.
• Excellent legal research, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to liaise effectively with legal counsels, regulatory bodies, and government authorities.
