Engineer/Lead Engineer

Functional Scope

Responsible for development, qualification, and industrialization of new products / process / materials / suppliers.

Preferred candidate profile

Candidate should have hands-on approach to dealing with all requirements. He/She should be proficient in molding, deco and assembly operations and be capable of assembling/dis-assembling products along with quick troubleshooting and debugging.

Roles & Responsibilities

• Verify product specifications, review, and specify drawings for components and assemblies.
• Partner with manufacturing team to ensure maximum utilization of the equipment and technical capabilities pay attention to industrialization and poke-yoke for every process.
• Reviews to determine costs and identify the ability to produce requested products in a more cost effective and timely manner.
• Review product design for compliance with engineering principles, company standards, customer specific requirements and related specifications.
• Apply knowledge of APQP to ensure quality products are produced right the first time and prevent known issues from recurring.
• Support production and engage directly with local and global development to ensure expectations are met.
• Optimize production processes for cycle time, quality with improved ergonomics.
• Introduce and implement low-cost automation and poke yoke.
• Apply knowledge to automate customer specific requirements / specifications and identify opportunities for design standardization across multiple product lines.
• Prepare technical documents for products and related development challenges.
• Selecting and adapting most appropriate testing methods and techniques.
• Independently performs tests or analyses using a methods and techniques.
• Evaluating ability of assembly, component, and equipments, to resolve new and unusual problems.
• Verification & validation of moulding, deco process, critical dimension, assembly operations, PPAP, gauge plan while responsible for quality and quantity of the work of others (Planning and Scheduling of testing and Audit as per the defined frequency).
• Ensuring control plans and deduction by appropriate quality assurance measures.
• Proper maintenance of safety procedures, equipment, instruments and supplies, files, and records with continual improvements.
• Participate in the development and refinement of Design and Process FMEAs (Failure Mode and Effects Analysis)
• Trains supervises and evaluates technical and support staff; determines work schedules and work assignments; recommends staffing levels.
• Prepares budget requests and manages approved budget.
• Initiates purchases of equipment to meet needs of the department.
• Keeps up to date of development in area of expertise and related documents (technical and system).
• Participates in discussions of new protocols and objectives.
• Taking disposal action on development / tested material(s) with defined frequency.
• Ensuring proper material handling, storing and identification as per the traceability.
• Monitoring and updating Root cause analysis and action plan (CAPA) review for internal deviation, customer audit.
• Understanding product requirements as per the customer test plans.
