Data Architect/Modeler - Synapse Analytics (7-20 yrs)

Job Description :

Must-Have skills :

1. 7+ years of progressive experience in Data & Analytics initiatives, with a strong understanding of how data architecture & modeling enable data pipelines, data management, and analytics.

2. 5+ years of experience in data architecture & modeling within Consumer/Healthcare Goods industries.

3. 5+ years of hands-on experience in Cloud Architecture (Azure, GCP, AWS) and cloud- based databases (Synapse, Databricks, Snowflake, Redshift).

4. Proficient in SQL and familiar with data modeling tools like Erwin or ER Studio.

5. Minimum of 5 years of experience with Agile methodologies (Scrum/Kanban) within a DevSecOps environment.

6. Expert in designing and developing performance-tuned, reusable, scalable data model standards and dictionaries.

7. Proven ability to lead multiple high-profile projects with strict deadlines, changing requirements, and defined resources.

8. Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders and vice versa.

9. Experience in planning, prioritising, and estimating efforts required for work items.

Qualifications :

1. Undergraduate degree in Technology, Computer Science, applied data sciences or other related fields; advanced degree in related fields preferred.

2. Experience in NoSQL and graphDB databases and related modeling approaches.

3. Hands-on experience with data catalogs (Alation, Collibra, or similar tools).

4. Ability to design data models to address complex data challenges such as granularity issues, data gaps, sophisticated matching logic, and the harmonization & normalization of data.

5. Strong ability to challenge the status quo in technology and architecture and influence effectively across the organization.

Roles & Responsibilities:

1. Provide overall leadership for data architecture and modeling in partnership with engineering and platform teams to build next-generation product capabilities that drive business growth.

2. Focus on execution & delivery of highly reliable, high-quality data products aimed at maximizing business value.

3. Be an integral part of the data platforms & products team, building and improving next-generation data & analytics capabilities within the DevSecOps framework.

4. Work closely with the Business Analytics leaders to understand the needs of the business, translating the business needs into optimal architecture designs.

5. Design data architecture, scalable & reusable models for various functional areas of data products adhering to "FAIR" principles.

6. Collaborate with data engineers, solution architects and other stakeholders on the data model, maintenance and optimization.

7. Forge trusted partnerships and be an integral part of Data Engineering, Platforms and Data Science teams to architect business-relevant data models.

8. Create and maintain Metadata Rules, Data Dictionaries and associated lineage details of the data models.

9. Stay up to date with emerging technologies, guide, and mentor other data modelers in the team.
