Job Overview:

We are seeking a highly skilled VMware, Cloud Orchestration, Linux, and Microsoft Administrator with expertise in managing AWS, Azure, and GCP environments. This individual will play a pivotal role in managing both on-premises virtualization platforms (VMware) and cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP), ensuring seamless integration, automation, and orchestration across hybrid and multi-cloud infrastructures. The ideal candidate will have deep knowledge of Linux and Microsoft server administration, cloud automation, and virtualization, and will be responsible for optimizing the performance and availability of all infrastructure environments.

Key Responsibilities:
VMware Administration:

• VMware Virtualization: Configure, manage, and optimize VMware environments, including ESXi hosts, vCenter Servers, and vSphere for high availability and performance.
• VMware Clusters & HA: Implement and manage VMware clusters, ensuring High Availability (HA), Distributed Resource Scheduler (DRS), and Fault Tolerance (FT) configurations.
• vMotion & Storage vMotion: Perform live migration of virtual machines (VMs) using vMotion and storage vMotion to minimize downtime and optimize resource allocation.
• Performance Monitoring & Optimization: Continuously monitor the performance of VMware environments and optimize VM resource utilization and host performance.
• Backup & Disaster Recovery: Ensure VMware VMs are backed up effectively using tools like Veeam or similar, and implement disaster recovery plans.
• VMware Automation: Automate VMware operations and processes using PowerCLI or other scripting tools to streamline management and improve operational efficiency.

Cloud Orchestration & Automation (AWS, Azure, GCP):

• Cloud Platform Management: Administer cloud environments (AWS, Azure, GCP) by provisioning, configuring, and managing infrastructure resources such as compute instances, storage, networking, and security.
• Cloud Orchestration: Use cloud-native orchestration tools like AWS CloudFormation, Azure Resource Manager, and Google Cloud Deployment Manager to automate the deployment and management of cloud resources.
• Infrastructure as Code (IaC): Implement and manage infrastructure provisioning using Terraform, Ansible, or AWS CloudFormation, ensuring consistent and repeatable deployments.
• CI/CD Pipelines: Work with development teams to integrate cloud services with continuous integration and continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipelines, ensuring smooth automation and scaling in cloud environments.
• Cloud Networking & Security: Configure and manage networking resources (VPCs, subnets, security groups, load balancers, firewalls) and implement cloud security best practices across AWS, Azure, and GCP environments.
• Cost Optimization: Monitor and manage cloud costs by implementing scaling, automation, and monitoring best practices to ensure cost-effective usage of cloud resources.

Linux System Administration:

• Linux Server Management: Administer and maintain Linux systems (CentOS, RHEL, Ubuntu) across on-premises and cloud environments, ensuring optimal system performance, security, and availability.
• System Monitoring & Performance Tuning: Use monitoring tools like Nagios, Prometheus, or Zabbix to keep track of system health and troubleshoot performance issues in both cloud and on-prem environments.
• Package Management & Updates: Manage system packages and updates using YUM, APT, or DNF, ensuring systems are patched and up-to-date.
• Security Hardening: Apply security best practices such as firewall configuration (iptables, firewalld), SELinux, and system hardening to ensure secure Linux servers in cloud and on-premises environments.
• Automation: Use scripting (Bash, Python) to automate system administration tasks, including user management, backups, and system monitoring.
• Backup & Recovery: Implement and manage backup solutions for Linux systems, ensuring high availability and data protection in cloud and on-prem environments.

Microsoft Server Administration:

• Windows Server Management: Administer and maintain Microsoft Windows Server environments (Windows Server 2016/2019/2022), including Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, and Group Policy management.
• Virtualization with Hyper-V: Manage and configure Hyper-V virtual machines and virtual networks in Windows environments, integrating them with VMware and cloud platforms.
• Active Directory & Group Policy: Manage Active Directory, create and enforce Group Policies (GPOs), and ensure seamless integration with cloud-based identity services (e.g., Azure AD).
• Patching & Updates: Use Windows Server Update Services (WSUS) or other patch management tools to ensure that Windows systems receive timely updates and security patches.
• File/Print Services: Manage file systems (NTFS, DFS) and print services, ensuring efficient file sharing and access across the organization.
• PowerShell Scripting: Leverage PowerShell to automate administrative tasks, monitor system performance, and handle configuration management in Windows environments.

Hybrid Cloud Integration & Management:

• Hybrid Cloud Architecture: Design and manage hybrid cloud environments, integrating on-premises systems with AWS, Azure, and GCP services, ensuring seamless interoperability and data flow.
• Multi-Cloud Management: Utilize tools like CloudHealth or CloudBolt to monitor and manage multi-cloud environments, providing cost optimization, performance monitoring, and resource management across AWS, Azure, and GCP.
• Cloud Migration: Plan and execute cloud migration projects, moving workloads from on-premises environments to AWS, Azure, or GCP, while minimizing disruption and optimizing resource usage.

Collaboration & Documentation:

• Collaboration: Work with development, networking, and security teams to ensure smooth integration and operation of VMware, cloud platforms, and server environments.
• Documentation: Maintain clear and comprehensive documentation for all infrastructure configurations, cloud environments, disaster recovery procedures, and automation scripts.
• Troubleshooting & Support: Provide L2/L3 support for infrastructure-related incidents, including VMware, cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP), Linux, and Windows systems.
• Knowledge Sharing: Share expertise and knowledge with junior administrators, helping to grow team capabilities and improve operational efficiency.

Skills & Qualifications:
Technical Skills:

• VMware Technologies: Strong experience with VMware vSphere, ESXi, vCenter, and managing VMware clusters, vMotion, Storage vMotion, and related technologies.
• Cloud Platforms: Proficiency in AWS, Azure, and Google Cloud Platform (GCP), including resource provisioning, networking, and cost management.
• Cloud Orchestration & IaC: Expertise with Terraform, AWS CloudFormation, Azure Resource Manager, and Google Cloud Deployment Manager for automating infrastructure provisioning.
• Linux Administration: Solid experience with Linux operating systems (CentOS, RHEL, Ubuntu), including system configuration, performance tuning, and security hardening.
• Windows Server Administration: Strong experience with Windows Server environments (2016, 2019, 2022), Active Directory, Group Policy, and Hyper-V.
• Scripting & Automation: Proficiency in scripting languages such as Bash, PowerShell, or Python to automate tasks and improve system efficiency.
• Cloud Security & Networking: Experience configuring cloud networking (VPC, subnets, load balancers, security groups) and implementing security best practices across AWS, Azure, and GCP.
• Backup & Disaster Recovery: Knowledge of backup and disaster recovery strategies and tools, including cloud-native services and VMware backup solutions.

Certifications:

• VMware Certified Professional (VCP) or higher.
• AWS Certified Solutions Architect Associate or Professional, or AWS Certified SysOps Administrator.
• Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect Expert, or Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator Associate.
• Google Cloud Professional Cloud Architect or Google Cloud Certified Associate Cloud Engineer.
• Linux Certifications: RHCSA, CompTIA Linux+ or similar.
• Infrastructure as Code Certifications: Terraform Associate, or similar.

Experience:

• 12+ years of experience managing VMware virtual environments, cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP), Linux, and Windows server environments.
• Strong experience with cloud orchestration and Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools like Terraform, CloudFormation, or Azure Resource Manager.
• Proven track record of managing and optimizing cloud environments for scalability, performance, and cost-efficiency.
• Experience with hybrid cloud solutions, including migration and integration of on-premises workloads with AWS, Azure, and GCP.
