Position Summary
The Database Architect oversees the Internal and Customer DB deployment architecture, security, design, and testing of the integrations & interoperability of software programs, vendor applications, and third-party solutions for the existing and upcoming projects. These duties would include design of solutions in consultation with analysts, designers, and system owners of vendor application systems within Public cloud as well as Private cloud infrastructure.
As the subject matter expert, the Data Architect must understand client data ecosystem and how Landis+Gyr solution fits into these requirements. The ideal candidate will be business-focused, possess strong technical aptitude and excellent client-facing communication skills. Successful candidates will be able to bridge the gap between business and technology, manage client resources, drive technical solutions to timely completion, and identify, analyze, and extract key data from heterogeneous systems. This role works closely with a wide variety of customers from program managers to developers, business units within L+G and the customers team to generate solutions, and helps the customer understand the solution and its impact on business efficiencies.
Key Responsibilities
Consult with customers to scope, design, document, implement and deliver end to end solutions to use L+Gs Products to accomplish their business tasks.
Architect new solutions and deliver new services, which meet the needs of the customer and are beneficial to Landis+Gyr’s Gridstream Solution in the public cloud as well as private infrastructure.
Work directly with customers to create solution designs and resolve any issues related to the solution.
Contribute to the Smart Grid Services culture by actively participating in the evolution of best practices, tools, and processes.
Collaborate with analysts, designers, and system owners in the testing of newly integrated software programs and applications.
Support integration testing phase of software and applications under development to identify and remedy potential problem areas.
Build relationships with vendors of utility applications deployed in the Smart Grid Energy Services sector to learn about and provide feedback on their technical integration capabilities.
Ensure that integration projects meet business requirements and goals, fulfill end-user requirements, and identify and resolve systems issues.
Develop standards, best practices, patterns, and processes to support and facilitate integration projects and initiative.
Ability to travel as needed (up to 50%)

Core Activities
Participate in Critical tickets along with the product team to meet customer SLAs.
Experience in Migrations, Upgrade, and Installations
Experience in framing Security, Backup and Recovery Specifications
Involve in the design process with Tech Arch and Product Teams to Implement the solutions.
Ability to detect and troubleshoot database servers related CPU, memory, I/O, disk space, and other resource contention.
Ability to troubleshoot, tune and optimize the infrastructure and resource management (OS & Performance tuning)
Database Administration Background,
Provide effective solutions to resolve complex technical for internal projects and deployments at customer sites.
Experience in large data management using partition /Sharding and data security.
Experience in DB activities such as cloning, database security, access control and backup mechanisms.
Should be well versed with System Audits requirements and methodologies.
Ability to Build and Support POC, Sandboxes, Customer Environments
Experience in Writing Technical Architecture Documents, and Prepare Architectural Diagrams
Experience in Collaborating with Customer Support, Product Support
Well versed with Networking, Data and Security Terminologies
Technology savvy who can provide solutions with the latest technology stack
Adoption of new technologies for the existing solution
