Job Description :
To lead and guide our software development teams.
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in Agile methodologies, with deep expertise in Jira, sprint planning, Scrum meetings, and project management.
This role is critical to ensuring the smooth delivery of high-quality software products on time and within scope.
Key Responsibilities :
Team Leadership & Management :
- Lead, mentor, and manage a team of engineers, fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement.
- Facilitate career growth and development for team members through coaching, feedback, and professional development opportunities.
Agile & Scrum Management :
- Act as the Scrum Master for the team, ensuring adherence to Agile principles and practices.
- Organize and facilitate all Scrum ceremonies, including daily stand-ups, sprint planning, sprint reviews, and retrospectives.
- Ensure the team is consistently delivering value in each sprint by maintaining a well-groomed product backlog in collaboration with Product Owners.
Project Planning & Execution :
- Oversee the end-to-end project planning process, including defining project scope, milestones, timelines, and resource allocation.
- Develop and maintain detailed project plans and roadmaps, ensuring alignment with overall business goals and strategies.
- Monitor project progress and adjust plans as necessary to meet deadlines and deliverables.
Jira Management & Reporting :
- Utilize Jira to manage and track project progress, ensuring that all tasks and issues are accurately logged and updated.
- Create and maintain Jira dashboards that provide clear visibility into project status, team performance, and key metrics.
- Generate regular reports from Jira to communicate project health, sprint progress, and upcoming milestones to stakeholders.
Release Management :
- Coordinate and oversee the release management process, ensuring that all release activities are well-planned and executed.
- Collaborate with QA, DevOps, and other teams to ensure smooth, on-time releases.
- Identify and mitigate risks related to release schedules and dependencies.
Stakeholder Communication :
- Act as the primary point of contact for stakeholders regarding project status, risks, and deliverables.
- Facilitate effective communication between the development team and other departments, ensuring alignment and understanding of project goals.
Qualifications :
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
- Proven experience as an Engineering Manager, Project Manager, or similar role in a software development environment.
- Strong expertise in Agile methodologies, with hands-on experience in Scrum and sprint planning.
- In-depth knowledge of Jira and Jira dashboards for project tracking and reporting.
- Demonstrated ability to manage complex projects, from planning through to delivery.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong problem-solving skills and a results-oriented mindset.
Preferred Qualifications :
- Certified Scrum Master (CSM) or other relevant Agile certifications.
- Experience in a software development environment, with a background in engineering or technical roles.
- Familiarity with DevOps practices and CI/CD pipelines.
