The Manager - Environment, Health, and Safety (EHS) plays a pivotal role in ensuring a safe, compliant, and sustainable working environment. This position is responsible for developing, implementing, and monitoring EHS programs, policies, and practices to safeguard employees, contractors, and stakeholders while maintaining environmental sustainability and regulatory compliance. The ideal candidate will possess a strong ability to lead, communicate, and drive a safety culture across the organization.

1. Strategic EHS Management

   • Develop and implement EHS policies, procedures, and programs in alignment with local regulations, industry standards, and company goals.
   • Establish and drive a robust EHS strategy to create a culture of safety, health, and environmental consciousness within the organization.
   • Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of EHS initiatives and recommend improvements where necessary.

2. Regulatory Compliance

   • Ensure adherence to all environmental, health, and safety regulations, standards, and guidelines (local, national, and international).
   • Maintain records, permits, and certifications required for regulatory compliance.
   • Act as the organization s point of contact for regulatory bodies and external audits.

3. Risk Assessment and Management

   • Conduct regular risk assessments, hazard identification, and job safety analyses.
   • Develop and implement control measures to mitigate risks and hazards in the workplace.
   • Investigate accidents, incidents, and near-misses, and ensure corrective and preventive actions are implemented effectively.

4. Training and Awareness

   • Develop and deliver EHS training programs for employees, contractors, and other stakeholders.
   • Promote awareness of health, safety, and environmental issues through communication and engagement programs.
   • Conduct regular toolbox talks, workshops, and emergency drills.

5. Environmental Sustainability

   • Drive initiatives to minimize the organization s environmental footprint, including waste reduction, energy conservation, and pollution prevention.
   • Monitor and report on environmental performance metrics.
   • Collaborate with stakeholders to implement environmentally friendly practices and processes.

6. Team Leadership and Collaboration

   • Lead and manage the EHS team, providing guidance, mentorship, and performance feedback.
   • Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and operations teams to integrate EHS principles into project planning and execution.
   • Build and maintain a culture of safety and collaboration across departments.

7. EHS Reporting and Analytics

   • Maintain and analyze EHS data to identify trends, measure performance, and drive continuous improvement.
   • Prepare and submit regular EHS reports to senior management, clients, and regulatory authorities.
   • Develop and track key performance indicators (KPIs) to assess the effectiveness of EHS programs.

Educational Requirements :

• Bachelor s degree in Environmental Science, Occupational Health and Safety, Engineering, or a related field.
• Professional certifications in EHS, such as NEBOSH, IOSH, OSHA, or equivalent, are highly desirable.

Experience :

• Minimum 10-15 years of experience in EHS management, preferably in Hydro Power Project.
• Demonstrated success in leading EHS programs and initiatives.

Technical Skills :

• Strong knowledge of EHS laws, regulations, and standards.
• Expertise in risk assessment methodologies, incident investigation, and root cause analysis.
• Proficiency in EHS software tools and Microsoft Office applications.
