Job Description

  • Capacity Planning : Analyzing customer orders, and historical data to forecast production needs and determine the required quantities of products to manufacture.
  • Scheduling : Developing detailed production schedules that outline when and how each step of the production process will be carried out. This includes coordinating with various departments like procurement, engineering, and quality assurance .
  • Resource Allocation : Ensuring that necessary resources raw materials, labor, machinery, and equipment are available and utilized efficiently to meet production targets.
2. Material Management
  • Inventory Control : Overseeing the management of raw materials, components and finished goods to avoid stockouts or overstocking. This involves working closely with procurement to ensure timely delivery of materials.
  • Supply Chain Coordination : Ensuring smooth coordination with suppliers to receive materials on time, considering lead times for procurement, storage, and availability.
3. Production Process Monitoring
  • Process Optimization : Identifying bottlenecks or inefficiencies in the production process and implementing corrective actions to improve productivity. This could involve adopting lean manufacturing techniques, such as value stream mapping and Kaizen.
  • Troubleshooting : Addressing any operational issues that arise during production, including machine breakdowns, labor shortages, or material delays.
4. Team Coordination and Supervision
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration : Coordinating with various departments such as engineering, procurement, and logistics to ensure that production targets are met. This includes aligning production goals with the capabilities of other departments.
  • Workforce Management : Supervising production teams, including allocating tasks, managing labor resources, and ensuring adherence to health and safety regulations.
  • Training : Ensuring that employees are properly trained in production techniques, safety standards, and the use of machinery and tools.
5. Performance Analysis and Reporting
  • Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) : Monitoring production performance using KPIs like throughput, cycle times, machine efficiency, downtime, and cost per unit.
  • Reporting : Providing regular reports on production progress, including any issues or delays, to senior management. This helps in making informed decisions about resource allocation or adjustments in strategy.
  • Cost Control : Keeping track of production costs, ensuring that they stay within the set budget. This involves identifying areas where cost reductions can be made, such as reducing waste or optimizing labor costs.
6. Customer Order Fulfillment
  • On-Time Delivery: Ensuring that customer orders for boilers are completed on time and meet customer specifications. This involves adjusting production schedules as necessary based on changes in demand or order priorities.
7. Maintenance Planning
  • Preventive Maintenance: Developing a preventive maintenance plan for machinery and equipment to minimize downtime and ensure smooth operations.
  • Equipment Upgrades: Identifying when machines or equipment need to be replaced or upgraded to meet new production requirements or improve efficiency.
8. Compliance and Safety
  • Regulatory Compliance: Ensuring that the manufacturing processes comply with local and international safety, environmental, and quality standards.
  • Safety Protocols: Developing and enforcing safety protocols to prevent accidents and ensure a safe working environment for all employees .
9. Continuous Improvement
  • Innovation and Process Improvement : Continuously reviewing production processes to identify opportunities for improvement. Implementing new technologies, automation, or process changes to enhance efficiency and reduce costs.
  • Lean Manufacturing : Promoting lean manufacturing techniques such as 5S, Just-in-Time (JIT), or Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) to optimize production operations.
Skills and Qualifications:
  • Leadership and Communication : Strong leadership to guide production teams, with excellent communication skills for cross-department coordination.
  • Technical Knowledge : Understanding of manufacturing processes, machinery, and materials specific to boiler production.
  • Problem-Solving Abilities : The ability to quickly identify issues in the production process and come up with effective solutions .
  • Project Management : Familiarity with project management tools and techniques for scheduling and resource management.
  • Analytical Skills : Ability to analyze data, identify trends, and make data-driven decisions.
