Key skills for the job
Candidate should have:
1) 15 20 years of experience in the domain of Supply Chain Management, handling Mechanical Packages, including both domestic and import operations.
2) Strategic Procurement Planning:
- Develop and implement procurement strategies that align with the company s objectives.
- Analyze market trends and suppliers to determine the best sources for materials and services.
- Develop and manage strategic relationships with key business associates.
3) Cost Management:
- Analyze purchasing patterns and identify cost-saving opportunities without compromising quality.
- Prepare clean sheet costing estimations before negotiation meetings to derive the most competitive supply/services.
- Negotiate contracts, terms, and conditions to secure the best deals.
4) Purchasing & Contract Management:
- Ensure compliance with the purchasing process, including creating and issuing purchase orders.
- Monitor supplier performance and address any issues such as delays, quality concerns, or cost increases.
5) Supplier Management:
- Identify and evaluate potential suppliers to ensure quality, cost-effectiveness, and reliability.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers to enhance collaboration and improve performance.
6) Compliance & Risk Management:
- Ensure compliance with legal, ethical, and regulatory procurement standards.
- Manage procurement risks by evaluating and mitigating potential issues in the supply chain.
- Implement best practices in procurement and continuous improvement processes.
7) Excellent communication skills, commercial acumen, and negotiation skills.
8) Knowledge of SAP is preferable.
