Job Description: Senior Engineer - MEP (Hospital Project)

Position Title: Senior Engineer - MEP

Project Type: Hospital Construction/Healthcare Facilities

Location: Jamui, Bihar / Siwan, Bihar / Jalgaon, Maharashtra

Experience Required: Minimum 10+ Years in MEP systems with hospital or healthcare project experience

Educational Qualification: Bachelors degree in Mechanical/Electrical Engineering or equivalent

Key Responsibilities:

1. MEP Design and Planning:

• Analyze and interpret MEP designs specific to hospital requirements, including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, medical gas systems, and fire safety systems.
• Ensure MEP systems comply with healthcare standards such as NABH, NFPA, or JCI.
• Coordinate with architects, biomedical engineers, and structural teams for seamless integration of hospital-specific infrastructure like operation theatres, ICUs, and diagnostic areas.

2. Installation and Supervision:

• Supervise the installation of specialized hospital systems, including:
• HVAC systems for infection control and temperature regulation.
• Backup power systems (e.g., generators, UPS) for critical care areas.
• Plumbing and medical gas systems for patient care.
• Fire suppression and alarm systems tailored to healthcare safety protocols.
• Conduct regular inspections to ensure installation aligns with project specifications.

3. Compliance and Quality Assurance:

• Ensure all MEP systems comply with healthcare-specific codes, such as NABH, NBC, ASHRAE, and local regulations.
• Conduct rigorous quality checks to meet hospital-grade hygiene and operational standards.
• Prepare and maintain records for certifications, inspections, and regulatory approvals.

4. Project Management:

• Develop detailed project schedules for MEP installations, ensuring alignment with hospital project milestones.
• Manage budgets and resource allocation, prioritizing cost-effective yet high-quality solutions.
• Identify risks specific to healthcare environments and develop mitigation strategies.

5. Maintenance and Testing:

• Oversee the commissioning and testing of MEP systems to ensure reliability in critical hospital operations.
• Develop preventive maintenance plans for uninterrupted operation of life-critical systems.
• Train hospital facility management teams on system operations and emergency protocols.

6. Stakeholder Coordination:

• Liaise with hospital administration, medical equipment vendors, and facility management teams to ensure MEP systems support hospital operations.
• Work closely with procurement teams to source hospital-grade materials and equipment.
• Communicate progress and challenges effectively to clients and senior management.

Key Skills and Competencies:

• In-depth knowledge of hospital-specific MEP systems and their operational requirements.
• Proficiency in MEP design software (e.g., Revit MEP, AutoCAD).
• Familiarity with healthcare building standards (e.g., NABH, NFPA, ASHRAE, JCI).
• Strong problem-solving skills with a focus on safety, hygiene, and system reliability.
• Effective leadership and team management for multidisciplinary coordination.
• Excellent communication and project documentation skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience in large-scale hospital or healthcare facility projects is mandatory.
• Certifications such as LEED AP (Healthcare), ASHRAE, or PMP are a plus.
• Hands-on experience with medical gas systems, clean room HVAC, and hospital-grade electrical systems.
